Job description

The New York State Education Department's Office of Education Policy seeks an Associate in Higher Education Opportunity to support college access and student opportunity programs, including the My Brother's Keeper initiative. The role involves site visits, grant monitoring, technical assistance to school districts and postsecondary institutions, budget review, and policy coordination across the state. This is a permanent position based in Albany that allows for up to 30% telecommuting.

Key qualifications:
  • Master's degree and four years of professional administrative or educational experience in higher education or related agency, with two years supervisory experience
  • Ability to conduct site visits across New York State, including remote locations
  • Experience with grant monitoring, compliance review, and fiscal/administrative processes
  • Demonstrated ability to provide technical assistance and coordinate program initiatives
