About Blue Trust

Blue Trust provides financial and family-office services through a planning philosophy grounded in biblical principles. Its Family Office platform integrates investments with tax, estate, financial-planning, insurance, and advisory expertise to support ultra-high-net-worth individuals and multigenerational families.

The Role

The Portfolio Manager, Family Office constructs, implements, and monitors sophisticated multi-asset portfolios for UHNW individuals and multigenerational families.

Working closely with Family Office Advisors and the Investment Strategy Group, this person will implement firmwide asset-allocation frameworks while tailoring portfolios to each familyโ€™s entities, liquidity requirements, values, risk profile, and long-term objectives. The Portfolio Manager will also provide thoughtful feedback to the Investment Strategy Group based on client needs, portfolio outcomes, and market developments.

This is a senior individual-contributor role with no direct reports and approximately 10โ€“25% travel.

What Youโ€™ll Do
  • Construct and manage customized portfolios spanning public and private markets.
  • Implement the Investment Strategy Groupโ€™s asset-allocation models with appropriate client-specific customization.
  • Provide feedback on allocation frameworks and emerging opportunities based on market conditions and portfolio outcomes.
  • Diagnose complex investment needs across multiple entities, generations, objectives, and liquidity profiles.
  • Design customized portfolio and investment-manager allocations.
  • Develop transition plans for newly onboarded assets and legacy portfolios.
  • Monitor performance, diversification, liquidity, and risk exposures.
  • Conduct ongoing portfolio reviews and rebalancing.
  • Source, evaluate, and perform due diligence on external investment managers.
  • Integrate alternative and private investments with appropriate sizing and diversification.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert on capital markets, portfolio construction, and the firmโ€™s investment philosophy.
  • Explain portfolio positioning, market outlook, and investment decisions clearly to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in client meetings and multigenerational family discussions.
  • Coordinate implementation with operations, compliance, custodians, and external partners.
  • Partner with tax, estate, planning, and other specialists to deliver holistic family-office solutions.
  • Develop investment presentations, educational resources, and thought-leadership materials.
  • Maintain the highest fiduciary, ethical, confidentiality, and compliance standards.
Who Weโ€™re Looking For
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Approximately 10โ€“15+ years in portfolio management, investment management, alternatives research, family office, endowment, foundation, OCIO, or institutional investing.
  • Deep knowledge of global capital markets and portfolio construction across public and private investments.
  • Experience managing complex portfolios with multiple entities, objectives, time horizons, and liquidity needs.
  • Demonstrated experience serving UHNW families, family offices, institutional investors, or similarly sophisticated clients.
  • Strong experience partnering with a centralized investment strategy or research team.
  • Sound judgment regarding asset allocation, portfolio customization, manager selection, risk, and liquidity.
  • Ability to explain investment philosophy and complex portfolio decisions clearly and confidently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfort engaging with multigenerational families.
  • High discretion and sensitivity when handling confidential family matters.
  • Collaborative approach to working with advisors, specialists, operations, compliance, custodians, and external managers.
  • Able to travel approximately 10โ€“25%.
  • Able to work respectfully and effectively within Blue Trustโ€™s values-led, faith-based service environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CFA designation strongly preferred.
  • CAIA designation preferred.
  • MBA, masterโ€™s in finance, or comparable advanced degree.
  • Direct family-office or UHNW portfolio-management experience.
  • Experience integrating alternatives and private investments into client portfolios.
  • Manager sourcing, evaluation, and due-diligence experience.
  • Experience transitioning complex legacy portfolios.
  • Background working within an institutional research, OCIO, endowment, foundation, or centralized investment-strategy model.
Compensation
  • $175k - $225k base with 20% bonus target.
Location & Travel

The position requires approximately 10โ€“25% travel.
