Job description

Our client, a well-established and growing oil & gas producer, is seeking an experienced Production Accountant to join their Calgary-based team. This opportunity is ideal for a senior production accounting professional who enjoys taking ownership of full-cycle production and revenue accounting activities while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Your success will be defined by your ability to:
  • Complete full-cycle production and revenue accounting for operated and non-operated assets in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
  • Maintain and update master data within Metrix, including wells, market masters, royalties, and processing fees.
  • Review fuel, flare, and vent emissions on a monthly basis.
  • Perform monthly accounts receivable reviews and reconciliations.
  • Review and process production and revenue amendments as required.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Respond to inquiries from government agencies, partners, royalty owners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Investigate and resolve system issues and data discrepancies within Metrix.
  • Support internal and external audits relating to production, revenue, transportation, and royalties.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to colleagues while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Your strengths include:
  • 10+ years of production and revenue accounting experience within the oil & gas industry.
  • Strong understanding of production accounting principles and industry regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic business environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel, Metrix, and Qbyte FM.
  • Working knowledge of field data capture systems, regulatory reporting requirements, and production accounting best practices.
  • CAPPA certification and post-secondary education are considered strong assets.
