The Procurement Data Specialist will be an expert and owner of all procurement master data. Responsibilities include collaborating with internal stakeholders, external suppliers and Caterpillar to gather and process information requirements to facilitate the daily and long term requirements vital to the ERP system and identify value-added opportunities across the organization. This role will also be responsible for analyzing and evaluating data for accuracy, updating master data as well as troubleshooting and resolving problems related to procurement master data. Another key responsibility will be creating reports/dashboards to support the procurement department and drive continuous improvement to achieve procurement excellence.Job Description:
Major Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage and optimize procurement data and systems by maintaining the integrity of supplier, item, and related master data within the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, while supporting overall system functionality and data architecture.

  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to gather business requirements, support data analysis, and translate operational needs into system and process improvements that enhance procurement performance.

  • Support ERP systems and continuous improvement initiatives by contributing to system enhancements, configuration changes, and integration activities in collaboration with IT and cross-functional teams to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Develop and maintain data governance standards by establishing data policies, controls, and best practices to ensure consistency, accuracy, compliance, and system integrity across procurement processes.

  • Design and deliver reporting and insights by developing and maintaining reports, dashboards, and analytical outputs to support decision-making, performance tracking, and operational visibility.

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to Procurement Data Coordinators and support cross-functional teams in data processes, reporting tools, and system usage.

  • Lead and contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to optimize procurement systems, workflows, and data processes, and ensuring initiatives are tracked through to completion.

Education and Experience:
  • Post-secondary degree in Business or Supply Chain, related to Data Management, Operations Management or related field

  • 2+ years experience in a Data Management or Supply Chain role

  • Strong computer skills and proficient in MS Office Suite - specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Experience with MS Power Automate or similar workflow automation tools

  • Experience with analytics and the development of reports, metrics and dashboards using tools such as PowerBI

  • SQL and Excel (VBA) knowledge is an asset

  • Previous experience with SAP Ariba would be an asset

  • Knowledge and understanding of end-to-end supply chain management

  • Working knowledge of ERP and data base systems
