Job description

Description
The Master Planner supporting the Medical Devices market within Healthcare Solutions business is responsible for developing and maintaining a feasible, integrated supply plan that balances customer demand, manufacturing capacity, material availability, and inventory objectives across a regulated, multi-site environment.
This role serves as the primary integrator between demand planning, manufacturing, procurement, and quality, ensuring reliable service to medical device customers while meeting regulatory, cost, and working capital expectations. The Master Planner operates at a product family or sub-family level and drives enterprise-level decision making to support customer commitments, new product introductions, and lifecycle management.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a feasible master production plan for medical device product families, incorporating demand signals, capacity constraints, inventory targets, and material availability
  • Translate unconstrained demand plans into executable supply plans, identifying risks and trade-offs across service, inventory, capacity, and cost
  • Balance short-term execution needs with mid- and long-term planning horizons to ensure continuity of supply in regulated medical device markets
  • Partner closely with Demand Planning, Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality, Engineering, and Commercial teams to align on priorities, constraints, and mitigation plans
  • Lead supply-side discussions in S&OP / IBP forums, clearly articulating constraints, scenarios, and recommended decisions
  • Act as the primary planning interface for manufacturing sites supporting medical devices, ensuring alignment across locations and technologies
  • Own inventory positioning for finished goods, WIP, and critical materials, balancing customer service, obsolescence risk, and working capital targets
  • Monitor and improve key KPIs including service level, OTIF, inventory turns, backlog, and plan adherence
  • Proactively identify and mitigate supply risks that could impact medical device customers
  • Leverage advanced planning systems (e.g., ERP, APS) to improve planning accuracy, visibility, and decision quality
  • Drive standard work, governance, and planning discipline across the medical device portfolio
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on planning effectiveness, data quality, and cross-functional execution

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, Business, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in supply planning, master planning, or production planning in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience supporting regulated industries (medical devices, pharmaceuticals, bioprocessing, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of S&OP / IBP processes, capacity planning, and inventory management
  • Demonstrated ability to operate cross-functionally and influence decision-making without direct authority
  • APICS / ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP) or equivalent
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement background
