2026 Pittsfield Police Captain Online Experience & Education (E&E) Claim Examination Title: Police Captain Promotional Examination Date: June 24, 2026 Deadline for Online E&E Claim Submission: July 1, 2026, at 11:59 pm This is the online Experience & Education (E&E) claim for the 2026 Pittsfield Police Captain Sole Assessment Center with E&E scheduled for June 24, 2026. There is no separate fee for filing this claim. Only eligible candidates who have already submitted an application and payment to participate in the 2026 Pittsfield Police Captain Sole Assessment Center with E&E scheduled for June 24, 2026, must complete this online claim.

E&E Examination Weights: E&E is made up of three categories and weighted 54% Experience, 22% Training, 24% Education. General Instructions: The E&E examination component asks a series of questions about a candidate's employment, supervisory experience, trainings, and education. The E&E guide contains instructions and examples on how to fill out the E&E application.

Please refer to the Police Promotional E&E Guide for complete instructions and examples of how to fill out the online E&E Claim. The guide is available on the Human Resources Division (HRD) Civil Service website at Police Promotional E&E Prep Guide. Preparing & Saving Your Claim: Candidates will be able to log in, complete, and submit your online E&E claim up to the statutory deadline of July 1, 2026.

Please be aware that once it is submitted, you will not be able to alter your online E&E Claim. After submission, your online E&E Claim will be saved in your online account, and you will have access to download or print a copy at any time. Written requests for modification of a submitted claim must be emailed to civilservice@mass.gov on or before the deadline date July 1, 2026, and will be added to your record for this examination component

Please email civilservice@mass.gov for any technical problems before the deadline date. Supporting Documentation: HRD requires the submission of supporting documentation for all claims submitted in your Online E&E Claim. Please attach electronic copies of this documentation (such as official college transcripts, copies of licenses and certifications, etc.) to the Online E&E Claim or email to civilservice@mass.gov by July 1, 2026, by 11:59 pm

Forms: Employment Verification Form Outside Supervisory Experience Form Police Promotional E&E Prep Guide Appeal Rights: Once you receive your examination score, you will have 17 calendar days from the emailing of your score to file an appeal of the scoring of your online E&E claim by statute. No new type of credit can be claimed once you submit your online E&E claim. Claim Audits: After submission of your E&E claim AND during the life of the resulting eligible list, HRD reserves the right to conduct an audit of your E&E claim.

Be prepared to provide copies of all supporting documentation submitted as part of this examination component to HRD or the appointing authority upon request. Note: An explanatory reference guide with point allocations will be made available when exam scores are released.
