Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8-hour shift  

Position Summary 

Performs production and material handling tasks to support the company's manufacturing goals, overall business plans, and objectives as directed. This role divides time between operating production machinery/equipment in a cleanroom environment (requiring full PPE gowning) and performing hands-on work in the stains and reagents manufacturing area, supporting the full production cycle. 

Position Structure 

Approximately half of each 8-hour shift is spent operating and monitoring production machinery in a cleanroom environment, which requires full PPE gowning (gown, gloves, mask, hair/beard covers, and shoe covers). The other half is spent working in the stains/reagents manufacturing area on mixing, dispensing, and material handling tasks. 

Accountabilities in this role: 

Machine Operation – Cleanroom Environment (approx. 4 hours/shift) 

  • Operates production machinery within a cleanroom environment, requiring full PPE gowning (gown, gloves, mask, hair/beard covers, and shoe covers) prior to entry and proper de-gowning procedures upon exit. 

  • Sets up, operates, and monitors production machinery and equipment in accordance with SOPs. 

  • Adjusts machine settings as needed to maintain throughput and meet product specifications. 

  • Conducts routine inspections of assigned equipment and performs basic changeovers. 

  • Follows cleanroom gowning, contamination control, and behavior protocols at all times to maintain the required cleanliness classification. 

  • Communicates to management any machine malfunctions and takes appropriate corrective action. 

Stains/Reagents Manufacturing Area (approx. 4 hours/shift) 

  • Handles stains and reagents according to established formulas and SOPs. 

  • Accurately measures and dispenses chemicals using approved procedures and equipment. 

  • Labels and documents stain/reagent batches to meet product and customer specifications. 

  • Understands and practices proper accumulation and storage requirements for chemical waste. 

Material Handling & General Production Support 

  • Removes finished products from production areas, ensuring proper identification and labeling to meet customer specifications. 

  • Ensure finished goods are properly documented. 

  • Stages finished goods and materials in accordance with warehouse and production planning schedules. 

  • Conducts inspection of materials used for packaging. 

  • Performs clean-up and housekeeping duties. 

  • Reviews and follows all standard operating procedures (SOPs) for area of responsibility. 

  • Complies with established job safety practices, policies, and procedures as specified in company directives. 

  • Complies with environmental regulations when using, dispensing, or handling hazardous and non-hazardous materials and wastes. 

  • Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department and company; handles stress and interacts with others to maintain a positive, productive work environment and minimize personal conflicts. 

  • Solid math skills and ability to perform basic calculations. 

  • Required to work assigned shift and flexible to work overtime as needed. 

  • High School Diploma or education equivalent required. 

  • 1+ year of job-related experience preferred; machine operation and/or chemical handling experience a plus. 

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and to work standing for long periods of time with frequent crouching or bending. 

  • Ability to apply standard evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard material handling and machine operation techniques, procedures, and criteria. 

  • Comfortable working with and around chemicals, stains, and reagents following proper safety protocols. 

  • Ability to gown and de-gown in full cleanroom PPE (gown, gloves, mask, hair/beard covers, shoe covers) for extended periods and comply with cleanroom contamination-control protocols. 

  • Must wear appropriate safety glasses, clothing, and footwear in designated areas and follow all safety practices. 

  • This position is exposed to occupational hazards, including but not limited to physical obstacles and exposure to chemicals. 

  • Performs such individual assignments as management may direct. 

  • Must follow company policies, procedures, practices, and standards of conduct as outlined in the employee handbook. 

  • Must be flexible to work overtime as needed. 

  • Willing, adaptable, and expected to support all operational tasks within the facility as requested.
