Job description

Under the direction of the Director of Nutrition the Corporate and Regional School Registered Dietitian Nutritionist assists with the development, implementation and execution of school nutrition initiatives for school districts located in Central, New Jersey for Maschio's Food Services, Inc. The Corporate and Regional School Registered Dietitian Nutritionist helps to maintain federal and state nutrition guidelines, provides nutrition education, and promotion of food allergy management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include but are not limited to:
  • Travel regularly to school districts within the assigned region to conduct site visits, provide support, and monitor program implementation.
  • Answers phone calls and emails for allergy, special dietary needs and ingredient statement concerns daily for school nurses, administration, parents and clients.
  • Oversee and implement specialized menus for students with special dietary needs and food allergies in accordance with medical documentation.
  • Assist with Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) and Cafeteria Connection newsletters and activities, as needed.
  • Assist with proposal response menus and nutrition content for bids with guidance from the Director of Nutrition.
  • Update nutrition labels with guidance from the Director of Nutrition.
  • Communicate and share information about the school food service program with parents and staff, ensuring clear understanding of services and benefits.
  • Provide administrative and presentation support for advisory committee meetings, including coordinating and assisting with presentations as needed.
  • Educate students, parents and school staff regarding healthy food choices through community outreach.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution.
  • Registered through the Commission on Dietetic Registration
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, leadership and technical
  • ServSafe certification or equivalent food safety credential.
  • Ability to travel within assigned region.

Preferred:
  • Experience working in a school food service K-12 environment
  • Experience with group presentations.

Essential Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Ability to sit or stand in a stationary position.
  • Ability to bend and lift up to 40lbs as needed to move objects.
  • Work is performed in both office and school cafeteria environments.
  • This is a full-time position, typically scheduled Monday through Friday, with hours aligned to school operations. Occasional late nights and weekends may be needed to attend events and meetings.
