JOB SUMMARY

The School of Business of the College of Business, Innovation, Leadership, and Technology (BILT) at Marymount University invites applications from accounting professionals qualified to teach undergraduate courses in the accounting field, such as Intermediate Accounting, Advanced Accounting Topics, Tax Accounting, Accounting for Managers, etc.

Faculty are expected to teach high quality courses in face-to-face and some online settings. The College of BILT is located at Marymount University's Ballston Center in the heart of one of Arlington's business districts. Our college is committed to preparing students for the industries in our community from startups to large established companies, including Amazon HQ2.

The School of Business is accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) and is the candidacy phase of AACSB International (AACSB) accreditation with the strategic support of Marymount's Board of Trustees.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Teach designated courses, face-to-face and/or online (synchronous and asynchronous), including keeping teaching materials current, interacting with students in discussions and hands-on activities, the continuous grading of assignments, and monitoring student performance through the courses.

Maintain appropriate office hours and support students in their educational journey and in their career progression.

Work with the School of Business Director to identify new subjects in the accounting field and identify yourself or other guest speakers and potential adjuncts to deliver this material.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Master's degree Accounting, Tax Accounting or a related field is required.

Doctoral degree is preferred.

Experience teaching in higher education or with adult learnings face-to-face and/or online is required.
