St. John Fisher University is an independent, liberal arts institution that provides a transformative education to approximately 3,800 undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students each year. Across its five Schools, Fisher offers nearly 40 majors in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, business, education, and nursing; 11 pre-professional programs; and master's and doctoral programs in business, nursing, education, pharmacy, and public health. The University's residential campus boasts a robust living and learning community and a successful intercollegiate athletics program. Fisher is a community where all are welcome, regardless of religious or cultural background.

Job Responsibilities
The School of Business invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Marketing to begin Fall 2027. We will consider all subspecialties of marketing. This position carries a 3-3 teaching load and involves teaching undergraduate and graduate marketing courses across multiple modalities (in-person, online, and hybrid). The School embraces a teacher-scholar model and prides itself on a high-touch approach. We are AACSB accredited and seek to deliver applied business learning anchored in community engagement and social responsibility. Faculty are expected to contribute meaningfully across teaching, research, and service while actively engaging with students and the broader Fisher community.
The candidate will have the following responsibilities:
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate marketing courses as needed by the Department; assess student learning and progress.
  • Maintain an active research agenda and produce original, discipline-based publications in peer-reviewed journals listed in ABDC or Cabell's, in alignment with AACSB "Scholarly Academic" standards.
  • Advise and mentor students and support recruitment and retention efforts.
  • Adopt new teaching techniques and engage students through interactive methods, experiential learning, and other innovative instructional practices.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of courses, programs, and School initiatives.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, alumni, and the business community to advance the School's mission.
  • Provide service to the Department, School, University, profession, and broader community, and share expertise through scholarly and professional outlets.

Education / Experience
Required Qualifications
  • Proof of permanent right to work in the US on first day of employment
  • A terminal degree in marketing or related field from an accredited institution. ABD candidates will be considered if the degree will be completed by August 2027.
  • Demonstrated potential to publish in discipline-based peer-reviewed journals listed in ABDC or Cabell's.

Preferred Experiences
  • Publications in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Professional experience in related fields of business.
  • Experience teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses.
  • Experience incorporating data analytics, AI, and business technology into courses.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with teaching or professional experience in one or more of the following areas: analytics, branding, buyer behavior, customer experience management, CRM, digital marketing, marketing strategy, promotions, sales, social media, services marketing, or entrepreneurship.
