Job description


Position Summary
As Marketing Project Manager, you will develop and manage project intake processes and workflows that support the successful delivery of marketing campaigns and initiatives. You'll work closely with Communications, Creative, Operations, and business teams to coordinate work, manage priorities, and keep projects moving from kickoff through completion.
You'll lead project planning, facilitate meetings, monitor timelines, and help teams navigate dependencies to ensure work is delivered on schedule and aligned with business priorities. This role will also help establish and grow the marketing project management function, with the opportunity to mentor and oversee project management resources as the team expands.
We are looking for a collaborative professional with strong project management skills, exceptional communication and organizational abilities, and a proactive approach to solving problems and improving how teams work.
Position Details
  • Develop and improve project management processes, standards, templates, and best practices for the marketing team.
  • Manage the intake, prioritization, and planning of marketing requests and projects.
  • Lead complex, cross-functional marketing projects from planning to execution.
  • Build project plans, schedules, and resource assignments to support successful execution.
  • Coordinate work across Communications, Creative, Operations, and business teams to keep projects moving forward.
  • Facilitate project kickoff meetings, status meetings, and regular check-ins.
  • Monitor project schedules, dependencies, risks, and resource capacity, proactively addressing issues that could impact delivery.
  • Manage project reviews, approvals, and stakeholder communications throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify opportunities to improve team workflows and project delivery.
  • Support the team's use of project management tools and Agile practices.
  • Help build the project management function by supporting resource planning and mentoring project coordinators as the team grows.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience, including at least 5 years managing marketing projects, campaigns, or cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, balance competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience managing project intake with a strong focus on prioritization, balancing competing demands, and aligning stakeholder expectations across cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment and applying Agile principles to marketing projects.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Experience using project management platforms such as Asana, Monday.com, Wrike, or similar tools.
  • Proven ability to identify process improvements and implement more efficient ways of working.
  • Agency project management experience is strongly preferred.

Pay: Final pay is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. For Virginia this ranges from $120,000.00 - $145,000.00 plus annual incentive, benefits, and retirement program as outlined above.
