Essential Job Duties

The Lifecycle Marketing Operations Manager serves as the operational arm of the Lifecycle Marketing team, helping turn strategic marketing plans into accurate, scalable programs across the prospect and customer lifecycle. This role builds, tests, launches, monitors, and updates lifecycle campaigns and supporting data processes, primarily within Marketo and related marketing systems. Working closely with lifecycle marketers and Marketing Operations partners, this role helps ensure programs are executed on time, data remains reliable, and issues are identified and resolved or escalated appropriately. This position enables lifecycle marketers to stay focused on strategy while providing the operational rigor needed to run programs end to end.

You will:

  • Build, configure, test, schedule, and launch lifecycle marketing programs in Marketo and related tools, including emails, text messages, smart campaigns, smart lists, automations, nurtures, and supporting workflows.
  • Partner with lifecycle marketers to translate approved strategies and defined business requirements into accurate, executable program builds across the prospect and customer lifecycle.
  • Perform end-to-end quality assurance before launch, validating audience criteria, links, personalization, tracking, suppression logic, campaign flow, and expected system behavior.
  • Monitor active lifecycle programs, identify operational or data issues, resolve common problems, and escalate complex platform or integration concerns to the appropriate partners.
  • Maintain lifecycle data quality through list management, segmentation, database monitoring, and the execution of established suppression, consent, and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor email and SMS deliverability and related program-health indicators, identify trends or potential risks, and partner with Marketing Operations to investigate and resolve red flags or implement system-level changes.
  • Coordinate project dependencies and communicate progress, risks, blockers, and timeline changes accurately and proactively to stakeholders.
  • Maintain process documentation and identify opportunities to improve execution accuracy, turnaround time, scalability, and team capacity.

What You Need to Get the Job Done

  • 1–3 years of experience in marketing operations, lifecycle marketing, email marketing, campaign operations, or a related area.
  • Experience building, testing, launching, or supporting campaigns in a marketing automation platform.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to complete thorough quality assurance across audiences, links, personalization, tracking, workflows, and campaign logic.
  • Working knowledge of audience segmentation, list management, suppression practices, and marketing data quality.
  • Ability to monitor active programs, troubleshoot common operational issues, and escalate complex system or integration concerns appropriately.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple requests and meet deadlines.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with an interest in using data to improve execution and processes.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and common business productivity tools.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with lifecycle marketers, Marketing Operations, Analytics, Events Technology, Customer Experience, and other cross-functional partners.

What Will Make Us REALLY Love You

  • Hands-on experience with Marketo or a comparable marketing automation platform.
  • Experience supporting prospect and customer lifecycle programs, including nurture, trigger, welcome, retention, expansion, advocacy, or win-back campaigns.
  • Familiarity with email deliverability indicators and the ability to recognize and escalate potential risks.
  • Familiarity with HTML, email creation tools such as Stripo, or campaign template management.
  • Familiarity with SMS automation platform tools such as Vibes, or related SMS platform experience.
  • Understanding of consent, suppression, and applicable email and SMS-marketing compliance practices.
  • Experience documenting workflows or recommending improvements that increase accuracy, scalability, and turnaround time.
