Job duties include evaluating market trends to develop new marketing strategies, creating department goals, delegating project tasks to employees, and training new marketing employees. Qualifications for this career include a bachelor’s or master’s degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field, extensive marketing experience, and leadership skills.

What are some common challenges faced by marketing operations managers when aligning marketing technology with organizational goals?

Marketing Operations Managers often encounter challenges when ensuring that marketing technology stacks effectively support broader business objectives. Integrating new tools with existing systems, maintaining data accuracy across platforms, and securing buy-in from cross-functional teams can be complex. Additionally, staying updated with rapidly evolving marketing technologies while balancing cost and utility requires ongoing attention. Successful Marketing Operations Managers proactively communicate with stakeholders, regularly evaluate tech performance, and foster a culture of continuous improvement to address these hurdles.

Digital Marketing Operations Manager

Ultradent, an award-winning, global dental manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and highly collaborative Digital Marketing Operations Manager to join our team. This role will be responsible for managing and optimizing the systems, automation, and processes that power Ultradent's global digital marketing and lead generation efforts.

This individual will own the administration and execution of marketing automation workflows within our MarTech platforms, help define and manage the global lead lifecycle, and work closely with IT, sales, and regional marketing teams to improve lead management, campaign execution, reporting visibility, and CRM integration processes. This role will play a critical part in helping Ultradent build scalable marketing infrastructure that connects digital marketing activity to measurable business outcomes.

  • Manage and optimize HubSpot as Ultradent's global marketing automation platform.
  • Build and maintain marketing workflows, emails, forms, lists, segmentation, and campaign assets within HubSpot.
  • Partner with digital product and channel managers, content, UX, and product marketing teams to execute digital campaigns and lead generation initiatives.
  • Help define and maintain the global lead lifecycle, including lead scoring, lead qualification, and lead routing processes.
  • Collaborate closely with IT teams to support and improve HubSpot and Microsoft Dynamics integration processes.
  • Create and maintain dashboards and reports that provide visibility into campaign performance, lead generation, funnel conversion, and marketing contribution to revenue.
  • Support regional marketing teams with campaign setup, automation best practices, and process training.
  • Identify opportunities to improve marketing automation, operational efficiency, and lead management processes.
  • Act as a liaison between marketing, IT, and sales teams to help prioritize and support marketing technology initiatives.
  • Document processes, workflows, and system standards to support long-term scalability and consistency.
  • Assist in improving visibility into marketing qualified leads (MQLs), sales qualified leads (SQLs), and overall funnel performance.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED AS A DIGITAL MARKETING OPERATIONS MANAGER:

  • At least 5 years of experience in marketing operations, marketing automation, CRM management, or related digital marketing roles is ideal
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Technology, Communications, or related field preferred
  • Hands-on experience with HubSpot or similar marketing automation platforms is ideal
  • Experience working with CRM systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, or similar platforms
  • Strong understanding of marketing automation workflows, lead lifecycle management, and campaign tracking
  • Experience building and managing marketing emails, forms, workflows, and reporting dashboards
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Experience working cross-functionally with marketing, IT, and sales teams
  • Ability to translate business needs into scalable systems and operational processes
  • Experience working in global or multi-region organizations is a plus

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR IN YOU:

  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills; Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Proactive personality with a preference for "doing" over "delegating"
  • Strong problem-solving and process-oriented mindset
  • Team-oriented and collaborative; able to help co-workers shine
  • Comfortable balancing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter who enjoys building and improving systems and processes
