Job description

Provides leadership for a team of Marketing Specialists while serving as a strategic partner to the Digital Marketing team in support of SME's marketing objectives. Responsible for guiding the development and implementation of integrated marketing strategies that drive audience engagement, customer acquisition and retention, brand awareness, and organizational growth. Ensures marketing efforts are aligned with business objectives and reinforce SME's leadership within the manufacturing industry.


This position provides direction and leadership to the marketing team and internal clients providing counsel on strategic marketing services, collaborates to establish goals and objectives, identifies target audiences, determines key performance indicators, creates annual budgets, manages resources, and ensures maximum return on marketing investment.


This role is expected to translate business goals into successful marketing campaigns and has oversite of the implementation from ideation to execution. Provides influential leadership to Marketing, IT, Sales, and Management, as well as outside agencies and vendors, in order to achieve this objective.


The position has direct management responsibilities, monitors, and reports on team members' performance.


MAJOR FUNCTIONS:

  • Build, lead and mentor a high-performing engaged marketing team to support the business unit's objectives
  • Develop annual performance goals, metrics and incentives; track performance metrics and conducts annual performance reviews
  • Report on team performance against objectives
  • Develop and execute integrated marketing strategies and cross-channel communication in support of SME's business units
  • Represent the marketing team within cross-functional groups including senior leadership, product/event management, business development, sales and customer service
  • Update senior leadership on the progress of marketing activities and reporting on the results of significant initiatives/campaigns
  • Lead research efforts for insights into the viability and application of new marketing strategies
  • Analyze data to evaluate the success of marketing efforts and come up with new ideas to improve awareness and exposure within the manufacturing industry
  • Identify opportunities for applying new technologies, products and services to both offline and online channels
  • Brainstorm new, creative ideas for campaigns and business growth
  • Oversight of a collective annual marketing budget in the $1,000,000 -$3,000,000 range
  • Integrate online activities with offline marketing plans to ensure plans provide optimal support of SME
  • Build strategic relationships and partner with key industry players, agencies and vendors
  • Negotiates contracts, manages agency and vendor relationships to ensure any outsourced work is consistent, high quality, cost-effective, and reflects brand standards
  • Analyze and report on customer behavior insights to improve user experience and customer engagement on SME websites and social channels. Identify trends and insights, and optimize spend and performance based on data insights
  • Work with the Marketing Team to produce valuable and engaging content that attracts and converts audience targets
  • Monitor, measure and report performance of all marketing campaigns, and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs)
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders. Seek feedback and input to enhance marketing efforts
