Job description

At David Zwirner, we look to be an industry leader in our field, with our artists at the center of what we do. Our global exhibition program expands beyond our locations in New York, London, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, and Paris, representing seventy artists and estates. Home to innovative, singular, and pioneering exhibitions across a variety of media and genres. Active in both the primary and secondary markets, David Zwirner has helped foster the careers of some of the most influential artists today.

Who will work well with us:

  • The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate and interested in the arts/larger creative arena or is eager to learn.
  • We welcome all individuals entering the workforce, those moving into a new stage of their career or vocation, making a change, returning to work, and those wanting to learn and grow within the industry, to apply.

About the Opportunity

Marketing Intern

David Zwirner seeks a highly organized and proactive Marketing Intern to support campaign execution, reporting, and cross-departmental marketing initiatives. This role works closely with the Marketing Assistant and Senior Marketing Manager and offers hands-on exposure to the full lifecycle of gallery marketing campaigns-from planning and launch through analysis and reporting.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and comfortable taking ownership of tasks in a fast-paced environment. This internship offers the opportunity to develop practical marketing skills while gaining insight into how campaigns support artist visibility, gallery programming, and sales engagement. This role is best suited to someone who takes initiative and is comfortable working independently once given direction.

What you'll do:

  • Collaborate with Design, Events, Content, Press, and global Marketing teams to support campaign execution across multiple channels.
  • Provide event support, including RSVP tracking, invitation management, and on-site assistance, interacting professionally with clients and VIP guests.
  • Organize and maintain marketing materials archives, ensuring that files, collateral, and assets are documented and easily accessible.
  • Compile campaign performance data and assist in building reporting decks that summarize results and insights, including year-end brand marketing reports, public event and traffic analyses, print/out-of-home campaign recaps, and gifting program performance summaries
  • Attend weekly meetings with marketing partners and contribute updates or notes as needed.
  • Maintain accurate database entry and support client reporting tasks, demonstrating strong attention to detail when working with sensitive information.
  • Assist with client book mailings and gifting programs to ensure accurate mailing list organization.
  • Draft design tickets for marketing materials, such as signage, clearly communicating project needs and timelines.
  • Sending out materials and packages to our global gallery locations, as well as clients and vendors.
  • Lead one independent research project focused on areas such as market research, competitive analysis, gallery traffic patterns, or vendor evaluation.

What we would like you to have:

  • A strong interest in the contemporary art world.
  • Comfort working with data in tools such as Google Sheets.
  • Experience creating recap decks or summarizing complex information into clear slides.
  • A proactive mindset-comfortable seeking out tasks, asking questions, and taking ownership of work.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization.
  • Confidence in interacting professionally at public events and in client-facing environments.

The Fall internship runs from September 21st - December 18th, 2026. Hours are 10AM - 6PM, 3-5 days a week. Preference will be given to applicants who can work 5 days a week. To ensure that our interns have a well-rounded and educational experience, we ask for a commitment of approximately 3 months. All interns are paid NYC minimum wage of $17/hour. All candidates must be residents of NY, NJ, or CT. No lodging or commuting expenses will be provided.

Please submit a resume and cover letter.
