Responsibilities

The Commercial Lines Producer Middle Market is responsible for generating new business and building lasting relationships with commercial clients. Working closely with internal Account Managers and insurance carriers, the Producer develops customized commercial insurance and risk management solutions that support clients' business objectives while driving agency growth through new business development and client retention.

Essential Duties

  • Develop new commercial insurance opportunities through relationship building, networking, referrals, and community involvement.
  • Build and maintain lasting relationships with clients, prospects, and referral partners to support agency growth and long-term client retention.
  • Conduct comprehensive insurance reviews and risk assessments to identify exposures and recommend appropriate coverage solutions.
  • Develop and present customized commercial insurance proposals tailored to each client's operations, risk profile, and business objectives.
  • Negotiate coverage terms, pricing, and program structure with insurance carriers.
  • Collaborate with Commercial Lines Account Executives, marketing staff, and carrier partners to develop competitive insurance solutions and ensure a seamless client experience.
  • Provide ongoing consultation regarding coverage changes, policy renewals, claims support, and emerging risks.
  • Maintain current knowledge of commercial insurance products, carrier appetites, underwriting guidelines, market conditions, and industry trends.
  • Attend client meetings, networking events, industry functions, and community organizations to strengthen relationships and promote the agency.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and activity records within the agency management system and CRM.

Requirements
  • Three to five years of commercial insurance sales, business development, or related experience preferred.
  • Active New Mexico Property & Casualty Insurance License required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products, including Property, General Liability, Commercial Auto, Workers' Compensation, Umbrella, Professional Liability, Inland Marine, Cyber Liability, and other commercial coverages.
  • Ability to analyze business operations, identify risk exposures, and recommend customized insurance solutions.
  • Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and a proven ability to generate new business.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex insurance concepts clearly.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with clients, carrier representatives, referral partners, and agency staff.
