Description
The Market Manager is a full-time position and is pivotal in the meticulous management of all in-market events, where your primary goal is to guarantee their seamless execution while maintaining alignment with the broader brand strategy. This responsibility encompasses a diverse array of essential tasks aimed at ensuring excellent execution and amplifying the execution of each event, all while ensuring that they uphold the brand's consistency and integrity.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Coordinate the scheduling, staffing, and logistics of all in-market events.
โ€ข Serve as the primary point of contact to a team of Promotional Specialists, assisting with scheduling, reporting, and communication as needed.
โ€ข Perform quality control inspections to ensure that the execution meets the expectations of the client.
โ€ข Provide feedback to improve execution standards and results for On- and Off-Premise events.
โ€ข Handle logistics of all promotions within assigned geographic area of responsibility.
โ€ข Recruit prospective Promotional Specialists at all attended promotions.
โ€ข Ensure that Promotional Specialists have the necessary training and materials prior to promotions.
โ€ข Manage promotional material (POS) inventory and warehousing.
โ€ข As an extension of Campari's local sales team, assist in the sell-in of samplings based on account lists provided.
โ€ข Assist in any brand, trade, special events or adhoc programs in market, such as:
o Distributor meetings
ยง Assist with pouring and setting up samples
ยง Set up activation space (if needed)
o Fleet Week (multiple activations)
o Pebble Beach Food & Wine
โ€ข Ensure all events and staff adhere to company, DISCUS and State mandated regulations including sampler licenses if needed.
โ€ข Management of post-event responsibilities (ensuring event recapping is done accurately and on time, verifying the invoicing procedure is followed, qualitative feedback Is collected and shared with client).
โ€ข Support the RAM, Campari Field Marketing Manager (FMM) on sampling-related and adhoc assignments.
โ€ข Assist with the planning of Brand Ambassador visits (local scheduling/hosting, as needed).
Recruit/Train Event Teams
โ€ข Must have access to a network of talented staff.
โ€ข Manage event staff pool to ensure the sampler base continually supports the needs of an ever-changing business.
โ€ข Foster execution of flawless events (includes, but is not limited to, on-site sampling, engaging consumers, delivering key brand communications, distributing POS, facilitating data capture).
Manage Key Relationships
โ€ข Schedule and confirm event activations with account management prior to execution.
โ€ข Liaise with local client sales teams, distributor partners and retail partners on a daily/weekly basis.
โ€ข Collaborate with third-party agencies, when necessary.
โ€ข Maintain a positive and proactive relationship with the local sales teams as well as account management and staff.
โ€ข Maintain account and distributor partner contact lists. Build trade/bartender relationships through account visits.
Financial Responsibility
โ€ข Manage event budgets.
โ€ข Coordinate payment of all bar tabs or per event supplies directly with account partners or staff.
โ€ข Manage payroll process of all staff.
โ€ข Submit and review receipts in a timely manner to ensure they are compliant.
Report on Event Activity
โ€ข Maintain and update scheduling of events in the Event Management System.
โ€ข Review and approve event recaps within 48 hours of event to ensure data integrity.
โ€ข Identify and report on key performance indicators.
โ€ข Report event and overall program feedback to RAM.
โ€ข Work with Promotional Specialist to attain high-quality event photos that capture the brand experience.
What You Bring to the Table:
โ€ข High School Diploma or GED
โ€ข 2+ years prior experience in event management
โ€ข Experience in recruiting and staffing for events, preferably with existing relationships with potential staff
โ€ข Access to event staff personnel
โ€ข Strong budget management skills
โ€ข Strong communication and on-site problem-solving skills
โ€ข Ability to prioritize and juggle many tasks
โ€ข Excellent presentation and organizational skills
โ€ข Effective training experience is preferred
โ€ข Knowledge of wine and spirits industry is mandatory
โ€ข Trade contacts are a plus
โ€ข Experience with inventory management
โ€ข Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and strong leadership skills
โ€ข Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
โ€ข Reliable transportation a must
โ€ข Comfortable lifting/transporting event kits/boxes
โ€ข San Fran area resident preferred, but will have full North California coverage
โ€ข Ability to travel (in-state) up to 70% of time
