A&D Market Manager / Account Executive/Greater Chicago & Mid-West Territory

The A&D Market Manager is responsible for growing the Hakwood brand and to build specifications for our products. The position coordinates all aspects of a project from specification to receipt of order.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Working in a specification lead role
  • Primarily working in assigned geographic Region Chicago & Mid-West
  • Develop new business according to an agreed workload repartition, in line with the strategy developed and shared by Hakwood Inc.
  • Develop solid relationships and identify specifying Architects & Designers, and custom builders, as well as business networks, consisting of parties that together form the decision-making unit in the purchase of luxury wooden flooring
  • Generates (local) market information as well as a continuous flow of requests for quotation, summarized in both a provided business pipelines / funnel template. Customer calls and visits will be captured in a comprehensive visit report and shared with Hakwood Inc. to secure an adequate project follow-up (CRM or similar)
  • Engage in business negotiations that secure new projects in line with the Hakwood Inc. strategy
  • Qualify prospects through effective lead qualification & networking/relationship-building
  • Position Hakwood Inc. and its products with A&D firms resulting in specifications
  • Provide educational training on products and developments to A&D community
  • Respond to all inquiries for specifications
  • Manage specifications throughout the life of the project
  • Communicate with inside sales staff/management for product sales coordination
  • Promote the Hakwood brand to all facets of the design and specification channel
  • Create awareness of the high end Hakwood products to elevate cutting edge designs
  • Promotes a high-performance culture by setting clear expectations and individual goals and focus on key drivers that impact succes

Requirements

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in related field or equivalent level of field experience
  • Minimum of 5-7 yearsโ€™ experience as an A&D representative role
  • Proven experience doing business in a high-end luxury business environment
  • Proven experience in selling at premium price levels in relation to high end / luxury market
  • Ideally live in Chicago, IL Region and can work from home
  • An established network of high-end A&D relations
  • Strong cold calling, networking, and appointment-setting skills
  • Excellent presentation skills and the ability to generate accurate quotes
  • Understands the buying process of specified products for single (residential) projects, repeat (retail /restaurant) projects, hospitality and multi-unit residential projects
  • Willing to travel internationally when required
  • Computer Literate and experienced in Word, Excel, Power Point and other applications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills professional attitude while being hands on
  • Ability to transpose strategy into action
  • Result and action oriented
