Job description

Manage the development of market intelligence through the design, development, and delivery of information, reports, and projects that improve internal knowledge and accurately inform decision making. Partner with segment teams on developing strategies and forming decisions that impact business performance. Leverage knowledge of environmental science principles and practices to direct, monitor, assess, model, and forecast the transition to cleaner technologies in our core markets (medium- and heavy-duty truck markets, mining, datacenters, and backup power markets). Develop AI-powered self-service tools that generate actionable insights by leveraging enterprise knowledge, third-party data sources, and internal strategy taxonomies. Establish and oversee AI governance structures, standards, and operating processes to ensure responsible, compliant, and scalable adoption. Build and lead market intelligence activity for a business area using knowledge of clean energy solutions and environmental science. Utilize understanding of energy transition technologies including understanding of alternative fuels (hydrogen, renewable natural gas, biofuels), expertise in electrification of transport and stationary power, and knowledge of battery energy storage and fuel cells for heavy-duty applications to direct the transition to cleaner technologies. Apply statistics, data validity, data visualization, data analytics, and problem solving approaches to effectively extract and analyze meaningful patterns and business insights. Develop, research, and leverage internal and external knowledge networks, including competitor's product data, trends, and positioning to build a comprehensive view of the complex market. Identify department issues, problems and opportunities to support continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Six Sigma tools and techniques. Analyze the information to develop strategic market insights and responses, propose projects and solutions, and appropriately allocate resources in order to maximize business value. Lead efforts to understand market drivers and historical behaviors to build segment-specific forecasts in support of the strategic planning process and other key initiatives. Utilize knowledge of regulatory frameworks driving clean technology adoption to track and interpret global policy trends impacting the energy transition. Provide insight into diesel displacement strategies in core markets, supply chain bottlenecks, and cost curves for emerging clean technologies by utilizing understanding of carbon pricing, emissions regulations, and fleet decarbonization policies. Use energy and transportation modeling tools including GREET and HOMER to assess the environmental impacts associated with technologies, fuels, products, and energy systems. Conceptualize and deploy intelligence methods, tools, and techniques to ensure delivery of quality market data, insights, and recommendations that guide business decisions. Forecast market adoption of alternative technologies and perform Life Cycle Analysis and emissions impact assessments. Lead or sponsor special projects and provide input on the regulations, policies, and market dynamics for clean energy technologies to further the understanding of specific aspects of the market to inform business strategies and decision making.
