What work will you perform?
As a Sales Development Specialist, you'll have the opportunity to build a career in sales and transportation while gaining hands-on experience in business development, customer prospecting, sales strategy, and market development. You'll work alongside experienced sales leaders across the country, travel to different markets, and gain firsthand exposure to customers, transportation trends, and sales strategies. This role is designed to develop future sales professionals and leaders, with a potential career path to Area Sales Manager. Candidates will have opportunities to relocate following the probationary period, expand their professional network, and build the skills and experience needed to grow within the sales organization.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Field Team, including Area Sales Managers, Region Vice Presidents, and Corporate Sales Executives, to support their sales efforts.
  • Collaborate with Agent Development Executives to assist with agent development strategies and contribute to region-specific growth plans.
  • Research markets, industries, customers, and transportation opportunities to identify and qualify new business opportunities for the sales team.
  • Prepare and qualify sales opportunities by resolving conflicts and credit issues, compiling comprehensive company and customer information, and providing Field Representatives with the data and context needed to successfully close new business.
  • Connect qualified prospects with Field Sales Representatives and help position opportunities for successful customer conversations.
  • Maintain sales opportunities in Salesforce and help ensure prospects receive timely follow-up throughout the sales process.
  • Frequent travel; coordinating through the Company's travel and expense system in compliance with Company travel and reimbursement policies

Required Minimum Experience and Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, or Logistics

Preferred Experience and Education:
  • 6 months' experience in transportation/logistics industry

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Sales led generation and qualification
  • Familiarity with CRM tools (Salesforce or similar)
  • Research and data mining
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
