Boater's World Marine Centers is seeking an experienced Assistant Parts Manager to join our Lake Placid, FL team.

This is not an entry-level parts position. We're looking for someone with previous marine dealership parts experience who understands marine engines, rigging components, accessories, inventory management, and dealership operations.


Working directly alongside our Parts Manager, you'll play a critical role in supporting one of Florida's busiest marine dealerships. From inventory management and vendor ordering to supporting technicians and assisting retail customers, you'll have a direct impact on the success of both our Service and Sales Departments.

What You'll Be Doing

Department Leadership & Support
  • Work directly alongside the Parts Manager to support the daily operations of one of Florida's busiest marine parts departments 
  • Help prioritize workflow to ensure technicians, service advisors, and retail customers receive timely support 
  • Step in to assist with front counter, inventory, receiving, and vendor management as business demands 
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and customer-focused parts department 
Marine Parts Sales & Customer Support
  • Assist retail customers, service technicians, and sales associates in identifying the correct marine parts, accessories, and rigging components 
  • Utilize your marine product knowledge to recommend OEM and aftermarket solutions that best fit customer needs 
  • Quote parts, accessories, and installation components for service repairs and boat sales 
  • Promote complementary products and accessories that improve the customer's boating experience 
Inventory Management & Vendor Relations
  • Receive, inspect, label, and stock incoming marine parts and accessories 
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through routine cycle counts and inventory adjustments 
  • Source and order marine parts from OEM manufacturers and aftermarket vendors 
  • Track backorders, special orders, and vendor deliveries to ensure parts arrive on time 
  • Assist with maintaining pricing accuracy and vendor relationships 
Service Department Support
  • Work closely with Service Advisors and Marine Technicians to quickly fulfill parts requests 
  • Research marine engines, rigging components, and replacement parts to ensure accurate ordering 
  • Help minimize technician downtime by ensuring parts are available before repairs begin 
  • Coordinate with the Service Department to support efficient repair scheduling and customer delivery timelines 
Sales Department Support
  • Assist the Sales Team with accessory packages, electronics, safety equipment, and rigging quotes 
  • Coordinate parts availability for new boat deliveries and customer upgrades 
  • Ensure accessory installations are properly sourced and scheduled to support timely deliveries 
Systems & Administrative Support
  • Utilize Lightspeed DMS to process orders, inventory transactions, returns, and invoices 
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and purchasing documentation 
  • Support daily reporting and operational initiatives alongside the Parts Manager 

Requirements

  • 2-5+ years of marine parts experience in a dealership environment 
  • Retail marine parts counter experience assisting customers and technicians 
  • Strong knowledge of Mercury, Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda, and general marine parts and accessories 
  • Experience researching, sourcing, and ordering marine parts from OEM and aftermarket vendors 
  • Experience maintaining inventory accuracy, receiving shipments, and processing returns 
  • Experience using Lightspeed DMS or a similar dealership management system strongly preferred 
  • Ability to identify marine rigging components, accessories, and replacement parts accurately
