Retail and Marcom Engineering, an IS&T team, builds and operates the systems and experiences that connect Apple's products with its customers. The team owns the technology behind both Apple's online and physical stores and drives the interactive marketing experiences and tools that keep creative operations moving. Together, those functions deliver the technology behind every product story Apple tells and every purchase a customer makes.
Description
In this role, you will work within a highly collaborative environment that balances rapid execution with technical excellence. You will gain exposure to cutting-edge cloud architectures and modern tooling, opening up clear pathways for personal growth and career advancement.
Minimum Qualifications
3 years of hands-on experience in infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or software engineering.
Linux: Proficiency in Linux system administration.
Source Control: Working knowledge of source control management systems, including Git and SVN.
Cloud Infrastructure: Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Software Development: Solid coding skills in Go, Java, or Python, with working knowledge of Test-Driven Development (TDD).
CI/CD & Automation: Experience building and maintaining build/release systems and CI/CD pipelines.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Familiarity with modern IaC tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or Helm.
Web Servers & Load Balancing: Working knowledge of web servers and load balancers, including Apache HTTP Server, NGINX, or HAProxy.
Virtualization: Familiarity with hypervisors and virtualization tooling such as VMware ESXi, Vagrant, or KVM.
Security & Encryption: General understanding of application security, system security, and transport layer security.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Self-Starter & Problem Solver: High degree of personal autonomy, initiative, and proactive problem-solving abilities.
Communication & Collaboration: Patient listener who actively seeks out all points of view during technical discussions, paired with a strong commitment to execute once alignment and strategic direction are established.
Observability & Monitoring: Hands-on experience with Splunk, Prometheus, and Grafana for real-time monitoring and alerting at global scale.
Go & Kubernetes: Proven track record writing idiomatic Go to extend, automate, or interface with Kubernetes ecosystems (e.g., custom controllers, operators, or cloud-native tooling).
Full-Stack & Web UI Integration: Experience building and maintaining production-grade Web UI frontends using modern frameworks (Vue, React, or Svelte) tightly integrated with Go backends and APIs.
Security-First Containerization: Mastery of Docker image hardening (minimal/distroless base images, rootless execution, vulnerability scanning, image signing, and secret hygiene).
Software Development: Expert-level coding skills in Go, Java, and Python, with strong mastery of Test-Driven Development (TDD) applied across large-scale, distributed systems.
Security & Encryption: Deep, applied understanding of application security, system security, transport layer security, and modern encryption standards in production environments.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Advanced, production-hardened experience across Terraform, Pulumi, and Helm at global/multi-region scale.
Cloud Infrastructure: Demonstrated experience architecting high-availability, multi-cloud solutions across AWS, GCP, and/or Azure.
