Job description

SUMMARY: WinTec Arrowmaker, Inc. is a defense contractor dedicated to providing outstanding program management, engineering, logistics, on-time deliverables, and operations to support Department of Defense customers. The Full Time Integration Specialist / UAS Pilot will work under the direction of the Program Manager and UAS Department Manager and will operate, pilot, and maintain unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) piloting software.
Travel both CONUS and OCONUS is required up to 40% (Approximately 6 to 10 trips per year, with each trip lasting 10 to 14 days)
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Provide technical guidance as well as after-action reports following field experimentation.
  • Repair and maintain structural, electronic control systems, and subassemblies of prototype UAS, commercial off-the-shelf COTS UAS platforms, and various other system types, including military UAS.
  • Perform balance and flight-check for approving UAS for return-to-service.
  • Conduct UAS flight operations to include basic associated equipment operation, mission planning, image capture and transmission, GPS navigation, and air space management.
  • Maintain current UAS inventory organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5+ years' experience with remote control aircraft, prototype UAS, commercial off-the-shelf UAS platforms, and various other system types, including military UAS.
  • 3+ years' electrical (avionics) integration, material fabrication with extensive knowledge of Mission Planner and various other COTS ground control software.
  • Possess or have the ability to obtain an FAA Part 107 license.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: military systems, computer systems, GPS, RF video transmission technology and techniques, aviation, airspace management, aerodynamics, map reading, remote controlled systems, electronics, Mission Planner, and model aviation.
  • Ability to maintain personal flight logs and flight certification documentation.
  • Knowledge of related mechanical assemblies to include actuators, servos, electric motors, and their wiring components.
  • Knowledge of electronic/gas R/C systems and subassemblies.
  • Knowledge of composite materials like Kevlar, fiberglass, carbon fiber and their appropriate use as it pertains to UAS manufacturing.
  • Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel knowledge.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced field environment and office environment, both orally and in writing.
  • Emphasis on field safety for all operationally involved personnel, not just flight crew-specific.
  • Demonstrated initiative, self-motivation, eagerness to learn, and attention-to-detail.

Additional requirements:
  • Travel both CONUS and OCONUS is required up to 40% (Approximately 6 to 10 trips per year, with each trip lasting 10 to 14 days).
  • Employment is contingent upon successfully obtaining a United States Passport within six months of the hire date.

PREFERRED SKILLS:
  • Balsa wood fabrication.
  • Adhesive familiarization.
  • Familiarization of common shop tools (wrenches, drivers, dremels, etc.).
  • Knowledge of machining a plus.
  • Military background or familiarity with military command and control structures.
  • Possess a working knowledge of the organizational interface of military, federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Demonstrate time management, problem-solving skills, self-motivation, eagerness to learn, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to efficiently react to shifting program requirements and work in a team environment.
  • Effectively communicate, both orally and in writing.
