Job description

Location: Irvine, CA Description: Our client is currently seeking a Engineer-System Performance - II in Irvine, CA
This job will have the following responsibilities:
  • Responsible for collecting and using hourly and daily service measurement data to optimize the LTE network.
  • Representing the team for feature related projects, new node integration, and other centralized tasks by meeting deliverables and holding other parties accountable per project plan.
  • Troubleshooting hardware and performance problems independently or by coordinating with other teams.
  • Supporting Network Performance in evaluating and improving areas of poor coverage by identifying system performance problems.
  • Reporting issues to appropriate engineers.
  • Resolving customer service issues, assisting in implementing solutions, and collecting drive test data in support of performance evaluations and build program prioritization.

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • MUST HAVE SKILLS (Most Important): - Knowledgeable with 4G and 5G operations - Able to troubleshoot common 4G and 5G issues - Familiar with VoNR, Volte operation and SIP protocol - Able to use trending tools and to produce presentations - Call flow analysis skills - Hands on experience with Ericsson RAN, EMS/OSS and core. Experience in running scripts and parameters changes. - Evaluating service performance trends and isolating root causes of impacted services. - Performing VoNR, VoLTE testing and analyses of relevant key performance indicators. - Coordinating technical investigations and testing with appropriate regional, area and HQ functions. - Providing technical analysis, troubleshooting, and training assistance to markets and regions as requested. - Optimizing LTE, 5G, and RAN networks using traditional and innovative means. - Investigating and resolving customer complaints regarding service. - Good at producing reports and presentations

  • DESIRED SKILLS: Bachelor's degree in Engineering with two or more years of work experience. Knowledge of LTE, 5G including VoLTE and RAN networks. Knowledge of at least one data collection tool such as Datapro, DMAT, TEMs Knowledge of data analysis/post-processing tools such as DMAT, Irisview, Windcatcher/Actix Knowledge of propagation and optimization modeling tools such as Atoll, GeoPlan Knowledge of programming languages such as C++, Python, Perl, Unix, scripting tools. Knowledge of mapping software such as Google Earth, MapInfo, ArcGIS, Topo. Knowledge of Ericsson systems including OSS and 3GPP LTE/5G standards. Ability to differentiate and diagnose RAN and CORE related problems. Understanding of IMS and systems engineering aspects related to RAN and proficiency in Core level call flow analysis.
