THIS IS A GRANT-FUNDED POSITION FUNDED UNTIL JANUARY 31, 2027
JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Research Study Coordinator 1 works with The Cowan Lab in the Department of Psychiatry on an institution-funded grant examining pain experience in individuals with substance misuse.
Responsibilities
  1. Recruits research participants via cold-calling, emails, presentations, etc.
  2. Performs data collection, administration of psychophysics, surveys, and collects biological samples; assists in data integrity.
  3. Assists in gift card compensation, regulatory documentation, and other aspects of data collection, storage, and processing, per sponsor and site-specific protocols.
  4. Assists in all phases of data collection, data management, and regulatory processes.
  5. Assumes responsibility for documentation compilation and reporting of quality checks on data to the Principal Investigator (PI).
  6. Maintains regulatory documentation from all participating institutions.
  7. Performs extraction and analysis of data, including psychophysical data, clinical and demographic data, and statistical analyses.
  8. Assists the principal investigator with the publication of data, grant and manuscript writing, and preparation of proposals.
  9. Monitors lab inventory and orders supplies as needed.
  10. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, or a related field of study. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of research experience. Must have a valid Driver's License and a personal vehicle is required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to recruit a specialized group of individuals.
  • Ability to give presentations.
  • Attention to detail while multitasking.
  • Ability to maintain diplomacy and confidentiality.
