Job description

Description
The Division of Geriatrics in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Instructor positions in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. Applicants should be board certified or board eligible in geriatric Medicine.
Responsibilities may include teaching medical students, residents, fellows, older adults and their care partners; providing clinical care in the House Calls program, ambulatory care practice and/or in the hospital Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) unit; participation in Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program (GWEP) activities; and courses, grant writing, manuscript writing, or other scholarship and research which will be determined through discussion with Division Chief and/or mentor.
The successful applicant will have an opportunity to enhance their teaching skills and clinical abilities, advance their professional development as well as develop additional skills that are aligned with their career goals.
