The MI's Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (FAME USA) is a signature initiative of the MI, supported by a dedicated team. FAME is a distinct model of skills training used to develop the next generation of technicians for advanced manufacturing. The Advanced Manufacturing Technician (AMT) program is the flagship training program of this model and is used by hundreds of manufacturers across the country to develop global-best multiskilled technicians; a Process Technician program is currently being piloted to expand training opportunities into new specialties.
Position Overview:
The Associate Director, FAME Chapter Success serves as a dedicated relationship manager and strategic support partner for chapters across the FAME USA Network. This role focuses on strengthening the long-term health, consistency, and effectiveness of existing FAME chapters through high-quality customer service, responsive guidance, resource development, and continuous improvement support.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary FAME USA representative and relationship manager for an assigned territory of chapters across multiple states.
  • Provide responsive guidance, resources, troubleshooting, and connections that support chapter success and continuous improvement.
  • Support onboarding and training activities for new and developing chapters participating in FAME Academy.
  • Guide chapters through the FAME USA Quality Assurance (QA) process, including preparation, documentation, and continuous improvement planning.
  • Support planning and execution of the annual FAME National Conference and other network events, trainings, and convenings.
  • Facilitate regular communication, collaboration, and best-practice sharing across the FAME USA Network.
  • Assist with development of tools, templates, trainings, and resources that strengthen chapter operations and consistency.
  • Identify trends, challenges, and opportunities across the network and help develop scalable support solutions.
  • Maintain organized records, tracking systems, and follow-up processes related to chapter support activities.
  • Support communications, webinars, meetings, and other activities that strengthen engagement across the network.
  • Travel periodically for chapter visits, trainings, conferences, and network support activities.
  • Support other programs and related activities under the MI Workforce Solutions portfolio.

Qualifications:
  • 5-7 years of experience in workforce development, education, manufacturing, apprenticeships, nonprofit management, economic development, or employer partnerships
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Prior experience with FAME strongly preferred.
  • Experience using CRM software; experience with HubSpot is preferred.
  • A willingness to learn new skills, tools, and processes: you will be performing multiple tasks using a variety of software applications for a variety of projects for a variety of stakeholders-both internal and external.
  • LMS experience is preferred but not required
  • A continuous improvement mindset.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 tools-particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Travel expectations include events, conferences, and chapter visits, requiring approximately 2-3 trips per month.
  • Team-first attitude with a service-oriented mindset. This work is collaborative and mission-driven, and success is built on trust and responsiveness.

Salary Range: $78,000 - $95,000 annually. This salary range represents a good faith estimate of the lowest to the highest salary for this position. The final salary offered will be based on qualifications and experience.
