Job description

Job Title: Manufacturing TechnicianJob Description

The Manufacturing Technician sets up, operates, monitors, and controls manufacturing equipment, systems, and processes in a regulated production environment. This role supports the execution of the production schedule, ensures rooms and equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized, and maintains accurate production records. The technician follows standard operating procedures, adheres to safety and environmental requirements, and helps maintain high quality standards throughout manufacturing, filling, and packaging operations.

Responsibilities
  • Set up, operate, monitor, and control manufacturing equipment, systems, and processes according to established procedures.
  • Clean and sanitize manufacturing, filling, and packaging rooms and equipment in compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Execute the production schedule to meet established production goals and timelines.
  • Handle labeling and components accurately, including transferring, counting, applying first-in-first-out (FIFO) principles, and managing returns.
  • Actively participate in and support event response activities to address production or quality incidents.
  • Review and author SOPs and other required documentation to support manufacturing operations and continuous improvement.
  • Identify, report, and assist in resolving quality issues to maintain compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
  • Execute and/or assist with equipment maintenance, including restoration of lost function, predictive maintenance, and preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Train fellow employees in areas of personal expertise and proactively learn systems and equipment outside of current specialization as skills and experience grow.
  • Record and review production data in batch production records (BPR) and associated forms with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Follow all safety and environmental requirements while performing daily duties and operating equipment.
  • Perform other related accountabilities and tasks as assigned to support manufacturing operations.
Essential Skills
  • Experience working under Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines in a regulated environment.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing operations or a manufacturing setting is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cleanroom or controlled environment setting.
  • Strong attention to detail when handling components, documentation, and production data.
  • Ability to remain on task and productive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable punctuality and consistent presence on scheduled workdays.
  • Comfort with cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining equipment and production areas according to SOPs.
  • Ability to follow written procedures and safety requirements accurately.
  • Capability to train others in learned processes and willingness to expand knowledge to new systems and equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Prior GMP-regulated manufacturing experience is highly beneficial.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
  • Biowork or similar foundational training in biomanufacturing is acceptable.
  • Strong documentation skills, including reviewing and authoring SOPs and completing batch production records.
  • Problem-solving skills to help identify and resolve equipment and quality issues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members on a structured shift schedule.
Work Environment

This role operates in a regulated manufacturing and cleanroom environment focused on high-quality production and strict adherence to GMP, safety, and environmental standards. The position follows a 2-2-3 shift pattern on the B team, working from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM, which includes a mix of weekdays and weekends. Work involves standing for extended periods, operating and monitoring production equipment, performing cleaning and sanitization tasks, and completing detailed documentation. Team members wear appropriate cleanroom and safety attire as required by facility procedures to maintain product quality and personal safety.

This is a Contract position based out of Clayton, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.74 - $21.74/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
