Job description

Advancing the Future of ECM Manufacturing

At Voxel Innovations, you'll operate advanced Electrochemical Machining (ECM) equipment that manufactures precision components for aerospace, medical device, energy, and industrial markets.

We're an engineering-driven company focused on advancing the capabilities of ECM technology. By developing new manufacturing processes, refining existing ones, and expanding ECM into new products and applications, we're helping redefine what's possible in precision manufacturing.

As part of our team, you'll work alongside Engineering, Quality, and Operations to solve complex manufacturing challenges, improve production processes, and manufacture components requiring exceptional precision and quality.
The Role

As an Advanced Manufacturing Technician, you'll do much more than operate equipment. You'll become an expert in ECM, supporting production while helping improve manufacturing processes and expand the capabilities of this unique technology.

You'll set up and operate advanced manufacturing equipment, troubleshoot equipment and process issues, inspect precision components, and work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Operations to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and process capability.

The ideal candidate enjoys understanding how equipment, manufacturing processes, and production systems work, not just how to operate them. We value technicians who ask questions, diagnose problems, understand cause and effect, and continually develop their technical expertise.

This is not a traditional production role. We're looking for individuals who combine strong technical aptitude with ownership, accountability, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Safely operate advanced Electrochemical Machining (ECM) equipment.
  • Set up production jobs, tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing processes.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Verify machine setup and process parameters before production begins.
  • Perform incoming, first article, in-process, and final inspections.
  • Monitor manufacturing processes and identify abnormalities before they impact product quality.
  • Troubleshoot equipment, tooling, and manufacturing process issues.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and equipment care.
  • Accurately complete production, quality, inventory, and work order documentation.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and controlled manufacturing work areas.
  • Participate in root cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Operations to improve business operations.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and Quality Management System requirements.

Qualifications
We're looking for individuals who combine strong technical aptitude with exceptional drive and character. Successful technicians at Voxel are mechanically inclined, enjoy solving technical problems, learning new manufacturing processes quickly, and hold themselves to a high standard of quality and accountability.

Required

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot technical problems.
  • Ability to understand and follow engineering drawings, technical documentation, and work instructions.
  • Ability to learn complex manufacturing equipment, processes, and software systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Strong work ethic, initiative, integrity, accountability, and reliability.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
  • Flexibility to work rotating 12-hour shifts on a 4-on / 4-off schedule.
  • Resides within approximately 30 minutes of our Knightdale facility or be willing to relocate.
  • MANDATORY REQUIREMENT: Due to U.S. government contract requirements, all employees must be either a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident with a valid I-551 card (green card). Work Visas are not acceptable. Employment eligibility will be verified as part of the hiring process.

Experience That Will Help You Succeed

  • Associate's degree or technical certification in Manufacturing Technology, Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Machining, or another related technical field.
  • Experience operating advanced manufacturing equipment or automated production systems.
  • Experience in performing equipment setup, process verification, troubleshooting, or preventive maintenance.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Experience in aerospace, medical device, semiconductor, industrial, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.

Compensation
Day Shift: $24–$27/hour, depending on experience
Night Shift: Day shift rate plus $2 night differential, depending on experience

  • What Would Happen If...? Innovation begins with curiosity. We ask questions, challenge assumptions, and pursue solutions others haven't considered. We aren't afraid to try difficult things, learn from failure, and continually expand the capabilities of ECM manufacturing.
