Job Title: Software Applications Engineer

DESCRIPTION:

The software applications engineer will design, develop, and support manufacturing software control systems used with Mitsubishi fabrication equipment at customer facilities located in North America. In this role, the incumbent will be responsible for design, development, validation, and support of automation software to enable manufacturing technologies. This position requires the ability to independently manage work assignments and complete project lifecycle management (i.e., requirement analysis to deployment and support).

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Support pre-and post- sales technical support

•Demonstrate software products to potential and existing customers.

•Analyze customer requirements and designing software solutions to meet requirements.

•Maintain clear communications with customers and software development partners.

•Test new software builds to prove the functionality, reliability, and performance of the applications you help develop.

•Provide expert level support to factory technicians and process engineers on use of these applications.

•Collaborate with software development team to drive core product growth.

•Develop new software solutions for customers and industry partners.

•Create and present technical training curriculums.

•Travel to customer and industry partner facilities to execute sales support, implementation, and conduct advanced technical training sessions. Up to 50% travel time per year may be required

•Cultivate professional business relationships with both developers and customers

•Other duties as required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

•Basic understanding of Industrial CNC machines and Industrial processes

•Efficient in the use of AutoCAD, SolidWorks or related design suites

•Ability to operate a motor- vehicle and possession of a valid Driver’s License

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent

• 3+ years working experience in Software design and Development

• Manufacturing Engineering or Programming

• Microsoft Windows platform using C#, C+ and Net Framework

• 3+ years of experience in Factory Automation with development and support of mission critical systems

• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Job operates mainly indoors, but exposed to changing weather conditions, such as extreme hot or cold, rain, sun, wind, etc. This job also works near moving mechanical parts and the noise level is moderate to loud. This position generally has a lot of driving and overtime work. Ability to operate a motor vehicle and possession of a valid driver’s license is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This job requires very frequent bending at the waist, twisting of the upper body, standing, speaking and hearing and frequent kneeling. Repetitive use of the hands, squeezing, keyboarding and crouching. Requires frequent lifting and carrying of 1-10 pounds, recurrent lifting of 11-20 pounds and occasional lifting and carrying of 21-50 or more pounds. Also requires constant pushing and pulling of 1-50 pounds and infrequent pushing and pulling of over 50 pounds with the aid of handcarts or other wheeled devices. Good visual and color acuity are required to perform this job.
