Description:

 As the Sales Manager, you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operational performance of the Sales team, ensuring sales representatives are supported, accountable, and consistently delivering a high level of customer experience across a high volume of inbound customer opportunities. This role serves as the primary resource and first escalation point for the Sales team, managing deal execution, pipeline and CRM discipline, quota performance, customer follow-up, and routine coordination with Production. The Sales Manager resolves tactical issues within established authority while identifying and aggregating patterns, opportunities, customer needs, and operational constraints for strategic review with the Director of Sales and CX.

What you’ll do

  • Oversee daily sales operations and serve as the primary resource and first point of escalation for Sales representatives, providing coaching and guidance on deal execution, customer needs, and routine operational questions
  • Manage the performance and development of Sales representatives through regular 1:1s, goal setting, coaching, performance feedback, recognition, and corrective action when needed
  • Drive team performance and quota attainment through regular coaching, pipeline review, clear expectations, follow-through, and accountability
  • Maintain strong CRM and pipeline discipline, ensuring sales data is accurate, current, and useful for managing opportunities, customer relationships, and team performance
  • Review and support sales opportunities, providing guidance on deal strategy and approving routine decisions within established pricing, margin, and operational authority
  • Serve as the primary operational communication link between Sales and Production, ensuring requests are complete, clear, and appropriately qualified; escalate non-standard opportunities and Production exceptions according to established guidelines
  • Identify and aggregate recurring customer requests, market opportunities, Production constraints, and demand for new materials, processes, services, or manufacturing capabilities, providing the Director with actionable insights for strategic planning
  • Resolve customer concerns as the first management-level escalation, coordinating with Sales representatives and appropriate internal teams to resolve issues and maintain a high level of customer experience
  • Ensure consistent customer follow-up throughout the customer lifecycle, including quotes, significant orders, lost or dormant opportunities, post-delivery communication, and account-development opportunities
  • Provide the Director with clear visibility into team performance, pipeline health, major opportunities, customer trends, significant wins and losses, and emerging strategic opportunities
  • Identify opportunities to improve sales processes, workflows, CRM usage, documentation, and team operating practices to increase efficiency, consistency, and customer experience
  • Participate in recruiting, onboarding, training, and developing the Sales team in partnership with the Director

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of experience in sales, account management, business development, or a related customer-facing role
  • 2+ years of  experience in a sales leadership or people-management role, with demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and hold frontline sales staff accountable
  • Strong deal judgment, including the ability to evaluate opportunities, identify risk, and determine when an issue should be resolved at the Manager level or escalated to senior leadership
  • Ability to hold team members accountable while maintaining a positive and productive team environment
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across Sales, Production, Finance, Customer Support, and other internal teams
  • Experience with CRM platforms, pipeline management, sales reporting, and performance metrics, with a strong focus on data quality and follow-through
  • Manage the performance and development of Sales representatives through regular 1:1s, goal setting, coaching, performance feedback, recognition, and corrective action when needed
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage a high volume of active opportunities, customer escalations, team needs, and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing or production-focused environment, or in technical sales
  • Experience with HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar CRM platforms
  • Experience working closely with Operations, Production, Engineering, or other technical teams
  • Experience supporting high-value or strategic accounts in a consultative, service-oriented sales model

  • Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications and includes a competitive, equitable commission plan.

  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time
  • Ability to use a computer, phone, and other standard office equipment for remote work
  • Ability to communicate effectively through video conferencing, phone, chat, and other remote collaboration tools

  • This role is a work from home position in a fast paced, collaborative environment that requires consistent communication, organization, and coordination across multiple remote teams
