Description
Granules Consumer Health, LLC is located in Manassas, Virginia. We have over 106 employees and annual revenue of $76.64 million. We serve as Granules' packaging facility and front-end division for private label over the counter (OTC) products in the US. We offer OTC generics that meet the highest level of quality at an affordable cost. As such, we are well-established on bulk supply through efficiencies garnered through manufacturing, integration and a high level of regulatory compliance. We are dedicated to excellence in manufacturing, quality, and customer service.
As a Packaging Line Operator/Materials Handler, you would be responsible for working in a variety of functions within the Granules Consumer Health manufacturing area, such as stacking/sorting/distributing bulk product and material, hand palletizing, sorting product, and raw material management (bottles, caps,), on our oral solid dosage pharmaceutical packaging line.
Training will be provided
Pay: $18.00/hour, Monday - Friday, must have flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed
Hiring for 1st shift (7:00am - 3:30pm) and 2nd shift (3:00p - 11:30pm)

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Responsible at all times for promoting a safety culture and awareness within their area. Support and adhere to all manufacturing safety policies and procedures at all times.
  • Assist manufacturing with inspection, sorting, and bagging process for bulk product. Remove defects as needed (i.e., deformed, discolored, misshaped, etc.).
  • Assist Senior Operators .
  • Management of bulk product from clean room to the packaging area, sorting/stacking/cleaning trays to be returned to clean room as needed.
  • Visual sorting and DE clumping of bulk product prior to packaging process.
  • Supplying hoppers with bottles, caps and other raw materials as needed.
  • Supply bottle conveyor for metal detection, capping, and induction sealing.
  • Identify, retrieve, and inspect pallets, apply case labels as needed.
  • Break down of excess corrugate for bailing.
  • Proper communications protocol with all manufacturing, quality, and other operations staff to communicate and escalate product or equipment issues as needed.
  • Assist in line clearance, cleaning and sanitization procedures as needed.
  • Use basic hand tools.
  • Required to work in a clean room environment.
  • Sets up and operates a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
  • Operate packaging equipment
  • Keep packaging area stocked with packing supplies.
  • Follow proper safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Other miscellaneous tasks as assigned.

Working Conditions
  • Stand for extended periods of time.
  • May be required: repetitive/sustained stooping and bending frequently.
  • Controlled environment; requires wearing special gowning and protective clothing over head, face, hands, feet, and body.
  • Will need to remove all make-up, jewelry, headwear, contact lenses, nail polish, artificial nails, and any other loose or torn articles of clothing.
  • Work around moving equipment and machinery in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • May work or be assigned to a different shift.
  • Must have flexibility to work overtime (up to 10-hour days, availability after hours, on weekends and holidays) as needed.

Requirements
Minimum Experience & Education required:
  • High school diploma or GED required OR related work experience
  • Prior manufacturing experience in a GMP environment preferred (food manufacturing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, etc.)
  • 0 - 3 years' experience in a fast-paced lean manufacturing environment preferred.

Knowledge & Skills Required:
  • Attention to detail
  • Must be able to take direction from leaders
  • Follow Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and other regulatory requirements.
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand English proficiently.
  • Understand and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures for process rooms and manufacturing area.
  • Ensure GMP compliance in a regulated work environment.
  • Follow Manufacturing processes and equipment procedures.
