Position Summary:
The Quality Inspector (Inspector II) is an advocate who confirms that company documentation and products meet customer requirements and specifications using inspection techniques and collaborative continuous improvement efforts aligned with the production departments. This includes proficiently using precision measurement/test equipment, process, and procedural control, and non-conformance data recording/tracking/analysis/mitigation.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect parts visually and dimensionally to ensure that the product meets the specifications, including first articles, first-piece inspection, in-process, and final inspection.
  • Documents, reviews, and maintains documentation related to manufacturing, quality control, and quality assurance. (Includes physical and digital format)
  • Maintain production team accountability and accuracy for inspection reports and specification compliance.
  • Support the culture of continuous improvement and personal accountability within the production departments, focusing on eliminating NCRs and Scrap.
  • Support non-conformances and corrective action investigations as part of the MRB Department team.
  • Support the development and compliance of QC processes/procedures/requirements, including the training and assistance of production personnel.
  • Maintain the condition, calibration, cleanliness, and organization of inspection tools, equipment, and record files.
  • Support all other quality department activities as needed.

Qualifications:
Required
  • 1-3 years of hands-on inspection experience in a fast-paced manufacturing/production environment.
  • Knowledge using most metrology hand tools.
  • Understanding of GD&T (reading & interpreting engineering prints)
  • Excellent technical communication and writing skills.
  • Good documentation practices.

Preferred
  • Use of advanced inspection equipment (CMM, Vision System, and similar)
  • Experience completing AS9102 First Article Reports.

Physical Demands: (as applicable)
Working with various sizes and shapes of products daily, the majority being under 5 pounds.
Regular standing at long intervals and lifting/moving products throughout the day will be required.
Writing daily reports or physical documentation at a computer terminal.
Work Environment / Schedule: (as applicable)
Primary shop or lab-type environment working with product, hand tools, shop equipment, and report writing daily. This position follows a 4/10 schedule Monday - Thursday. Initial training will be conducted on the 1st shift. Upon completion of training, the role will transition to 2nd shift (4:15 pm - 2:45 am). There will be a minimum two-week overlap period requiring extended or heavier workdays.
