Job description

Chemco Systems is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineering/Project Manager to lead and oversee various engineering projects within our manufacturing facility. This role requires a proactive and meticulous individual who can effectively manage resources, timelines, and deliverables while ensuring high-quality standards are met. This person is responsible for controlling documentation to support the customer's technical and quality requirements. A background in steel fabrication, tanks and tank structures, structural, or civil engineering is preferred.
Chemco Systems is located in Pittsburgh, PA and specializes in the design and manufacturing of bulk chemical storage handling and feed systems for municipal water treatment plants and industrial air & water pollution treatment. These systems require custom, steel storage silos and pressure vessels that are designed to meet the specific needs of each customer.
This position will be trained and brought up to speed in this role.
Responsibilities
  • This engineering manager is responsible for overseeing Chemco's tank and pressure vessel manufacturing branch.
  • Review of purchase orders to determine applicable requirements.
  • Review all raw material requirements and complete bills of materials for purchasing action.
  • Ensure that fabricated tanks and vessels are in line with customer specifications and OSHA safety standards.
  • Perform detail review of in-house drawings and instructions necessary to support fabrication.
  • Perform structural calculations of sizing of steel members such as floors, beams, columns.
  • Experience working in a similar position or engineering discipline.
  • Will work closely with other Chemco project managers that are working in parallel to this position.
  • Responsible for overseeing ASME Section VIII Div.1 pressure vessel program
  • Managing drafters/detailers

Requirements/Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical/structural/civil engineering.
  • Understanding of mechanical engineering codes and OSHA safety standards.
  • Detail oriented professional to ensure high accuracy of fabrication drawings.
  • Problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, such as effective verbal and written communications.
  • Comfortable working in and operating in Autodesk AutoCad 2D and Microsoft 365.
