Job description

Reno Staffing is looking for a machine maintenance technician for an organic tea manufacturer in the Sparks area!


Shift: Monday – Friday 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Pay: $18 (Hire after 90 days)
Location: Sparks, NV


Summary:


The Maintenance Technician is responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations performed within the company’s manufacturing/production facility. Through one’s experience, the Manager will be responsible for developing strategies/programs to improve useful life, reliability, worker safety, and to reduce the incident of costly breakdowns of plant, equipment and machinery.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Other duties may be assigned.


  • Plays key role in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and incorporating efficient methods of maintaining all equipment.
  • Schedules and prioritizes preventative maintenance and repair activities of the manufacturing/production facilities.
  • Analyzes machinery and equipment breakdowns and develops preventive measures.
  • Provides technical advice guidance and mentoring to employees on safety initiatives and necessary changes.
  • Manages maintenance supply inventories, maintaining accuracy and evaluating supply vendors.
  • Maintains electrical, lighting, heating and air conditioning with assigned personnel or outside contractors, as appropriate.
  • Maintains vehicles and forklifts, including all service records, utilizing assigned personnel or outside contractors, as required.
  • Maintains current maintenance history on all production and support equipment.
  • Coordinates storage and disposal of hazardous waste products.
  • Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must have good communication skills in English, both oral and written.
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing/production maintenance and safety.
  • Knowledge of plastics and sheet metal equipment and machinery.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical connections, nodes and conduits.
  • Must have a good working knowledge of OSHA safety programs, requirements and inspections.
  • Must have ability to read a machine manual, electrical diagram and conduct troubleshooting as needed on each equipment.
