Job description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring that all manufacturing equipment and building systems operate at peak efficiency. They troubleshoot and repair equipment to keep harvesting equipment (such as tractors) running safely and operating at peak efficiency. Using their knowledge and experience, they provide insight to improve equipment to deliver better performance.

This is a 40-hour a week position; weekend work may be required

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Respond quickly to repair equipment and components to minimize downtime
  • Work closely with management and supervisors to determine priorities and courses of action to improve uptime, product quality and employee safety
  • Plan and perform maintenance activities to minimize downtime
  • Participate in the improvement of our preventative maintenance system
  • Assist in the implementation of new PM procedures and use it to control and record maintenance activities
  • Perform PM activities on a timely basis and keep records of the activity and the components used
  • Help maintain an adequate inventory of spare parts
  • Keep all tools and machine shop equipment in workable condition
  • At all times work in a manner that maintains the safety of themselves and others
  • Maintain safety guards on equipment
  • Work extra hours as required to keep production equipment running
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Experience working with agricultural equipment considered an asset

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Must have own means of transportation to and from work.
