For 80 years Rice Lake Weighing Systems has been a successful, growth-oriented company known as a leader in the weighing industry and our community. Located in scenic northwestern Wisconsin just 90 miles from Minneapolis, RLWS offers big city careers in a small-town atmosphere.
Essential Job Functions & Major Tasks:
  • Support the management of product segments by providing collaboration, leadership and entrepreneurial efforts. Includes recognizing market segment opportunities, cultivating relationships with customers, establishing focus and momentum for product segment, and becoming acknowledged as a competent and knowledgeable product segment professional by industry individuals and employees.
  • Collaborate with the Product Management team, which maintains company focus and prioritizing of products and services. Includes supporting other product managers, negotiating for internal resources, assisting other product segments, managing a portfolio of products, developing company sales and marketing strategies, sharing market intelligence, and deriving consensus within the team. Also includes assisting with maintaining MRP parameters, managing part numbers, ASAP quotes, NCP and ECO requests.
  • Establish and develop business relationships with cross-functional teams, customers, industry leaders, and major suppliers to ensure competitiveness of product segment. Includes representing Rice Lake Weighing Systems and product segment(s), developing market information, working with current and new suppliers to identify new business opportunities, and advocate company's reputation as the stocking distributor and manufacturer of choice.
  • Forecast assigned product segment(s) future sales for use by Purchasing, Manufacturing and other departments. Responsible for ensuring forecast validity, structure, and timeliness.
  • Manage and support the development of assigned product segments short-term and long-term sales goals and objectives. Develop goals and objectives based on market intelligence, company strategy, and product opportunities. Monitor progress to determine achievement of goals and objectives, adjust base on market information and ensure that the key criteria of ROI, urgency, and strategic importance are maximized.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, to ensure that customers receive application advice and guidance for proposed applications. Includes organizing training of front-line customer employees, recommending customers service improvements, identification of service-related failures, and providing customer service leadership by example. Additionally, working with customers, or customer facing roles, to identify requirements and aligning proper equipment or services with those requirements. Ensuring proper sales process flow and internal and external communications are achieved.

Other Job Functions:
  • Stay abreast of legal, legislative, and other exterior market information to protect and expand business opportunities
  • Travels to customer locations and other business functions in the performance of above essential job functions
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Sales, Business Administration, Technical Field or related, or five (5) or more years scales and measurements experience
  • Three (3) years or more weighing industry or related industry (Strongly Preferred)
