Job description

Production Supervisor – Manufacturing

A growing manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead a high-volume production and assembly team. This position is ideal for a hands-on leader who can manage daily operations, develop employees, improve workflow, and drive results in safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.

Bilingual English/Spanish candidates with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support a team of approximately 25+ production employees.
  • Assign daily work and communicate production priorities.
  • Monitor schedules, staffing, workflow, and production performance.
  • Help ensure customer and internal production deadlines are met.
  • Identify and resolve production bottlenecks, quality issues, and process problems.
  • Work closely with other departments to address operational and production concerns.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on:
    • Safety
    • Quality
    • Productivity
    • Waste reduction
    • Workflow improvement
    • Equipment uptime
  • Support Lean Manufacturing, 5S, root cause analysis, standardized work, and visual management initiatives.
  • Track production metrics and use data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Coach, train, cross-train, and develop production employees.
  • Provide performance feedback and address employee concerns professionally.
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training new employees.
  • Maintain employee training and qualification records.
  • Review attendance, timecards, schedules, and time-off requests.
  • Ensure employees follow established procedures, quality requirements, and company policies.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of manufacturing or production supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience leading a production, assembly, or manufacturing team.
  • Experience supervising approximately 25 or more employees preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma experience or certification is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of 5S, continuous improvement, root cause analysis, and process improvement.
  • Strong leadership and employee-development skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Experience using production metrics and KPIs.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude preferred.
  • ERP/MRP system experience is a plus.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer systems.

Preferred Background

Experience in any of the following areas is helpful but not required:

Education

Work Environment

Candidates should be comfortable standing and walking for portions of the day, working around manufacturing equipment, and occasionally lifting light materials or components.
