Job Title

Manufacturing Process Engineer

Position Overview

Shaw Industries is looking for a Manufacturing Process Engineer to lead efforts in process improvement objectives in our Synthetic Turf tufting manufacturing process.

This Bainbridge, GA-based role puts you at the center of manufacturing the next generation of turf systems-supporting process improvement, quality, safety, and product development for two of the most trusted brands in the industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering support, troubleshooting, testing, and solutions to Turf department and leadership on a daily basis. Support is aimed at improving process quality, output, efficiency, safety, and cost savings.
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination of Process Improvement efforts across production, technical, reliability, and leadership staff.
  • Maintain high yarn quality standards by providing effective data analysis of quality charts, investigating quality issues, making process adjustments as needed, overseeing supplier quality, and evaluating methods for improving runability and repeatability.
  • Drive process improvement efforts through creating reliable plant procedures, systematically eliminating machine/process waste, evaluating areas of opportunity, and executing short and long term solutions daily. This may include both regular and capital expenditures project management.
  • Utilize data driven decisions and effective communication to ensure efforts are in line with plant priorities, and progress is made in a timely manner.
  • Oversee projects related to improving associate safety and work environment compliance.

Requirements:

  • Four (4) year B.S. degree from a recognized university or college with a commensurate level of related experience (engineering degree preferred)
  • Previous Manufacturing engineering experience preferred.
  • Other requirements or ability to learn:
  • Strong supervisory, organizational, and people skills necessary to manage multifaceted jobs.
  • Professional ethics, tact, and courtesy in working with teams.
  • Good problem solving, decision making, troubleshooting skills, and ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Basic computer skills, including the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Willingness to work occasional overtime as determined by projects and plant needs.
