Cenveo is a leading North American manufacturer of envelopes with over 100 years of experience and approximately 30 billion envelopes manufactured annually. We are hiring immediately for an experienced Plant Manager for its envelope manufacturing facility in Smyrna, GA.

Job Summary

The Plant Manager directs the manufacturing, maintenance, warehousing and distribution operations of a facility to achieve business goals including safety, quality, and production (including efficiency and profitability). They ensure compliance with all government regulations and corporate policies. Additionally, the Plant Manager serves as a liaison between the manufacturing facility and its clients, the Sales department, and other groups.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions)

These are functions a qualified incumbent or applicant must be able to perform with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Through direct action and the management of others, ensure the safe, productive, and profitable daily operations of an envelope manufacturing facility.
  • Effectively use financial, & other, reports to monitor and improve facility performance on a variety of business related metrics. Prepare similar reports as required.
  • Select, train, and develop subordinates necessary to conduct facility operations.
  • Direct the plant supervision team in the enforcement and consistent application of policies, and plant rules which may include the terms of a collective bargaining agreement.
  • Monitor, train and communicate safety and quality programs and ensure compliance with company policies and government regulations.
  • Ensure the efficient and effective purchasing and utilization of all materials and services.
  • Collaborate with sales to improve or modify existing products as needed, and to aid in new product development.
  • Visit customer facilities, or host customer visits to the Cenveo facility to aid in sales, customer relations, or the resolution of problem situations. 
  • Monitor new trends and developments in business and manufacturing.
  • Represent the company and facility in community relations functions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Other (Non-Essential) Functions

Includes functions which are normally performed by persons holding this title. However, these functions may be reassigned to other employees as part of a “Reasonable Accommodation” under the ADA.

  • Other duties and assignments as required.


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.  Will consider experience in lieu of Bachelor’s degree, emphasis on Manufacturing, Industrial Management, or similar preferred.
  • Comprehensive experience in manufacturing, along with advanced knowledge in multiple related disciplines and processes is required.
  • Experience in envelope, printing or packaging is highly preferred.
  • Extensive experience Environmental, Health, & Safety.
  • Six Sigma / Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Managing teams or projects is preferred.
  • Strong PC skills including Microsoft Office and internet research
  • Strong interpersonal verbal and written communication
  • Ability to work independently and with others, demonstrate analytical abilities, and be a strong and versatile leader.
  • Must be a self-starter and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to perform work, and resolve problems, that are complex and varied in nature.   


Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions

  • Frequent exposure to manufacturing environment with one or more unpleasant or hazardous conditions including but not limited to dust, dirt, high noise levels, chemicals, etc.
  • Incumbent regularly required to hear, speak, be articulate, use color vision, and sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Incumbent occasionally required to stand, walk, lift up to 50lbs, grasp, reach, carry and use manual dexterity.
  • Incumbent may occasionally be required to travel.
