Job description

Job Title: Project Scheduler
Location: Lockport, LA

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Project Scheduler to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the workflow for departments and operations according to established manufacturing sequences and lead times. This role involves assisting in planning sequences for fabrication, assembly, and installation operations, as well as preparing production reports and developing build strategies with production and project management teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage workflow for departments and operations based on established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
  • Assist in planning fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations to guide production workers.
  • Confer with department supervisors to determine the status of assigned projects.
  • Prepare production reports and update customers' quarterly reviews.
  • Support the development of build strategies with production and project management teams.
  • Provide schedule dates for the MRP process to ensure timely material procurement.
  • Track the physical progress of project activities and area workstation process results.
  • Plan and review daily station activities with supervisors.
  • Report progress, tracking results, and schedule projections to production supervision.
  • Develop recovery plans as needed in collaboration with production supervision.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in preparing production schedules for industrial manufacturing and/or fabrication projects.
  • Experience with Primavera P6 scheduling software is required; MS Project experience is a plus.
  • Shipbuilding and Earned Value Management (EVM) experience is a plus.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to organize and multi-task multiple projects effectively.
  • Proficient in utilizing basic computer software (MS Office applications).
