Essential Functions

The Director of Operations oversees and directs all phases of product manufacturing, including Tubular Threading, Accessory Manufacture, OEM Manufacture, Torque and Test, and facility maintenance in Houma, Louisiana. The Director of Operations reports to the President.

The Director of Operations works closely with managers and team members within Tubular Threading, Accessory Manufacturing, Quality, HSE and Maintenance, to ensure that production is completed in the most efficient, cost-effective, and safe manner while maintaining a high-quality product.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the leadership team to develop short- and long-term strategies and goals.
  • Develop and execute the operations strategy and annual operating plan, aligned to company goals, including capacity planning, staffing, and capital prioritization.
  • Ensure that the Tubular and Accessory Manufacturing groups schedule machine shop, process control, torque & test work, and equipment maintenance in such a manner as to make the most efficient use of labor & equipment to meet customer delivery requirements.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to ensure smooth coordination between production, quality, and maintenance departments.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production and quality.
  • Recruit, motivate, manage, and mentor all levels of employees.
  • Lead, train, and develop managers, supervisors, and staff, fostering a culture of accountability and teamwork.
  • Actively participate in the composition and revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support consistent and compliant execution.
  • Develop and manage operating budgets and capital planning to meet business objectives.
  • Partner with Quality to strengthen nonconformance processes, root cause analysis, audit readiness, and prevention of recurrence.
  • Implement and sustain an effective equipment maintenance program.
  • Lead a culture that complies with Benoitโ€™s safety, environmental, quality, and personnel policies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in operations management, Engineering, or closely related field or equivalent years of experience
  • Plus a minimum of 5-10 years of progressive experience with at least 5 years leading managers/supervisors in manufacturing operations
  • At least 5 years of experience in oilfield services, machining, threading, tubulars, or other highly specialized manufacturing
  • Experience operating in safety- and quality-critical environments
  • Demonstrated experience leading managers/supervisors in a production environment.
  • Strategic planning and leadership experience in developing and implementing operational strategies aligned with company goals
  • A strong knowledge of overall business operations using good judgment and participation in senior executive decision-making activities
  • Proven experience with setting production objectives, timelines, and budgets for manufacturing and maintenance
  • Make a positive impact on the long-term success of the business
  • Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to draw on the ideas of staff and operations management, and convert them into meaningful strategies and plans
  • Establish and maintain excellent relationships and credibility quickly
  • Foster a team atmosphere with internal staff while achieving key objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate effectively, build, and manage teams, and lead by example effectively
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office
  • Experience using an ERP system is preferred. Experience using Acumatica is a plus
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills with the ability to architect and sell ideas
  • Unquestionable integrity, credibility, and character with demonstrated high ethical behavior
