Manufacturing Excellence Manager

Tempe Mechanical | Chandler, AZ

Help Shape the Future of Our Manufacturing Operation

At Tempe Mechanical, we believe our fabrication shop is more than just a support department-it's a competitive advantage.

We're looking for an exceptional leader who is passionate about building great teams, improving processes, and creating a manufacturing operation that can support the next generation of growth.

This is an opportunity to make a lasting impact by helping transform our sheet metal fabrication facility into a highly organized, efficient, and scalable operation.

If you're energized by developing people, improving systems, and leading meaningful change, we'd love to meet you.

About the Role

As our Manufacturing Excellence Manager, you'll work directly with company leadership to improve every aspect of our fabrication operation.

You'll help bridge the gap between engineering, estimating, project management, production, shipping, and our growing online sales platform to ensure work flows efficiently from order to delivery.

Your mission is simple:

Build a manufacturing operation that is safe, organized, efficient, scalable, and driven by continuous improvement.

What You'll Do
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives throughout the fabrication shop.
  • Develop and implement scalable manufacturing processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Coach and develop shop employees while creating a culture of accountability, teamwork, and ownership.
  • Improve workflow from estimating and detailing through fabrication, packaging, and delivery.
  • Partner with project managers, purchasing, engineering, and production teams to improve communication and execution.
  • Identify bottlenecks and implement practical solutions that improve quality, efficiency, and throughput.
  • Develop KPIs and production metrics that help drive daily performance.
  • Help implement technology and automation to improve manufacturing operations.
  • Improve inventory control, material flow, and production scheduling.
  • Create systems that prepare the shop for long-term growth while maintaining exceptional quality and customer service.

Who You Are

You enjoy building things-but more importantly, you enjoy building people and systems.

You're a natural coach who believes great manufacturing starts with great leadership.

You thrive in fast-paced environments and don't shy away from challenges.

You see inefficiencies as opportunities, communicate well with others, and enjoy helping teams perform at a higher level.

You're just as comfortable walking the production floor as you are creating new processes or leading improvement meetings.

We're Looking For Someone Who Is
  • Self-motivated
  • Highly accountable
  • People-centered
  • Process-driven
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • A strong communicator
  • Comfortable leading change
  • Passionate about coaching and developing others
  • Calm under pressure
  • Driven by continuous improvement

Pay
  • $85,000 - $100,000 - Pay Rate Determined in Interview
Preferred Experience
  • Manufacturing leadership
  • Sheet metal fabrication (preferred but not required)
  • Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement
  • Production planning and scheduling
  • SOP development
  • KPI and performance management
  • Team leadership and coaching
  • ERP or manufacturing software
  • Process improvement and operational excellence

What Success Looks Like

Within your first year, you'll help us:

  • Create standardized processes throughout the fabrication shop.
  • Improve production flow and communication between departments.
  • Increase productivity while maintaining exceptional quality.
  • Develop employees through coaching and accountability.
  • Improve production scheduling and material flow.
  • Build measurable KPIs for safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery.
  • Prepare the manufacturing operation to support significant future growth.

Why Tempe Mechanical?

At Tempe Mechanical, we're committed to investing in our people, our technology, and our manufacturing capabilities. We believe innovation and operational excellence begin on the shop floor, and we're looking for someone who shares that vision.

This is an opportunity to help shape the future of our manufacturing operation, influence company-wide success, and leave a lasting impact on an organization that values continuous improvement and strong leadership.

If you're passionate about developing people, building efficient systems, and creating a world-class manufacturing operation, we'd love to hear from you.
