What you will do

 The External Manufacturing (EM) Operations Lead is responsible for leading continuous improvement processes and programs across multiple Self Care External Manufacturing sites. This role will work with key business partners across the organization (Quality Assurance, Process Excellence, Manufacturing, Technical Operations, Enterprise Project Management, Planning, and Procurement) with high level of visibility to leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with department leaders, establish strategies and programs across departments and integrate within the sites' overall strategies, goals, and objectives.  

  • Continually assess performance of multiple sites across the EM network, recognize gaps to standard, and implement actions to resolve. 

  • Drive execution of multiple projects within strategic programs to achieve clear and impactful business results.

  • Develop project schedules, identify cross-functional deliverables and detailed timelines, and manage project priorities and cross-project dependencies.

  • Proactively identify project risks, execution issues and opportunities; develop and deliver viable risk mitigation and contingency plans by engaging teams in balanced debate and leveraging risk management expertise and tools (identification, clear communication, mitigation plans). 

  • Work with business leaders and project leaders to ensure program and site goals are achieved.

  • Hold teams and site leaders accountable to business process standards.

  • Support diagnostics and assessments of site processes and collaborate with site leaders to build and implement associated action plans. 

  • Work closely with key stakeholders to transform the culture by embedding a continuous improvement mentality and best in class capability-building initiatives.

  • Manage site needs for the business, such as supporting ERP on-boarding, overseeing project budgets, creating purchase requisitions, facilitating site change controls including coordinating deliverable execution; support Quality Assurance with site investigations, and other needs, as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Engineering, Business, or other technical degree. MA/MS/MBA desirable.

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in Supply Chain/Operations, Quality, External or Internal Manufacturing, Procurement, Supply Chain Sourcing, and/or Supply Planning is required.

  • Detailed understanding of project management methodologies, tools and techniques

  • Must have competency for balancing and prioritizing multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously.

  • A self-starter with strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence, partner and communicate across functional levels is required.

  • The ability to think analytically and strategically to understand sophisticated, complex, or ambiguous problems or issues is required.

  • Adhere to GMP compliance and procedures.

  • Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally. 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting Manufacturing or Packaging, Projects/Operations in a GMP environment.

  • Experience supporting life cycle for pharmaceutical, device, and/or cosmetic products.

  • Experience dealing with external manufacturers, suppliers and contract services is highly preferred.

  • Experience coordinating investigations associated with plant related non-conformances and implementing corrective/preventative actions.

  • Experience reviewing and/or writing technical documentation such as change controls and protocols/technical reports, etc.

  • Experience with ERP systems, such as SAP.

  • Experience with systems and tools supporting analysis and reporting including Tableau/Power BI dashboard development.

  • Knowledge of Process Excellence (PE) and LEAN methodologies and tools (DMAIC, Voice of Customer, FMEA, Design of Experiments, fishbone, 5 whys, Kaizen, etc.).

What’s in it for you

Annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges:$92,600.00 - $142,600.00
