Manufacturing Engineer

We are a privately-held independent metal fabrication company that produces components used in a wide range of industries. Our goal is to provide products and services that meet our customers? needs in a timely fashion with the highest level of quality and value.

Our capabilities at DJS are constantly expanding and currently include CNC machining, full metal fabrication (laser, brake, welding), painting, integrated assemblies and more. Our facility includes the latest in manufacturing technology and equipment.

JOB DESCRIPTION:


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Reviews manufacturability and assists in cost estimating
  • Ensures the process details needed to manufacture the product are correct and in transmitted in a timely manner
    • Sets up Bills of Materials and Routings
    • Sets process flow
    • Sets efficient inspection criteria
    • Sets packaging requirements
  • Ensures the product can be manufactured efficiently
    • Planned versus actual review in real time - Adds/revises (real time) plan to achieve best outcome
    • Identifies tooling and fixturing requirements
    • Adheres to packaging requirements
  • Solves process and production related issues
  • Reviews and monitors production schedules to ensure timely delivery
  • Validates and analyzes post production costing and production date

REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES:

  • Ability to think critically and make decisions in a timely fashion
  • Ability to work independently and on a team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills. Working knowledge of ERP systems required.
  • 3D / CAD experience desired - preferably SolidWorks
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience. Experience in a job shop environment a plus
  • High School diploma or GED required. Technical school, associates or bachelor degree a plus
