Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Plans, directs, and coordinates all activities of employees engaged in the manufacturing and assembly of various production components.

  • Studies and updates the schedule and estimates worker-hour requirements for completion of job assignments.

  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects through completion.

  • Fosters and maintains an effective organization through communication, training and motivation of all personnel. Develops hourly talents necessary to achieve overall success and meet divisional objectives.

  • Implements cross-training procedures for current and/or new employees to assure operation proficiency and safety.

  • Coordinates with other plant function areas to ensure attainment of 100% on-time delivery.

  • Ensures effective customer service and relations through timely delivery of quality products.

  • Plans, documents, and controls routine preventative maintenance on all production equipment, including production tooling.

  • Accesses and analyzes production data using manufacturing software to determine causes of operating or production problems.

  • Initiates or suggests plans for Cellular/Flow Manufacturing by linking manual and machine operations that will increase productivity and balance product flow.

  • Coordinates Lean-Process improvement activities as related to areas of responsibility.

  • Achieves and sustains clean, safe, and organized workplaces by practicing 5S system that will reduce machine downtime, improve safety, decrease changeover time, and boost employee morale as well as the work environment.

  • Adheres to all requirements of ISO, QS, and AS Procedures related to production.

  • Completes additional tasks not identified by this document but deemed necessary by the Manufacturing Manager.

Skills and Experience:

  • Product knowledge, including formal education, licenses, or associated experience.

  • Knowledge of technical and mechanical aspects of product offerings.

  • Interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Communication skills (written, presentation, and oral).

  • 5+ years of business and sales experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in marketing or business, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
