Position Overview

Busek is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Supervisor – Propellant Management Assembly (PMA) to lead daily manufacturing operations supporting the assembly and integration of precision propulsion hardware. This role is responsible for supervising manufacturing technicians, coordinating production activities, and ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely manufacture of high-quality aerospace components.

The Manufacturing Supervisor will work closely with Engineering, Production Planning, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Management to support prototype development, production builds, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who enjoys developing people, solving manufacturing challenges, and building a culture of accountability, safety, and operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and support the daily activities of Manufacturing Technicians within the Propellant Management Assembly (PMA) team.
  • Ensure manufacturing activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality requirements.
  • Coordinate production priorities with Engineering, Planning, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Management to meet delivery commitments.
  • Monitor production schedules and proactively identify and resolve labor, material, equipment, and process constraints.
  • Support the precision assembly and integration of propulsion hardware, fluid systems, valves, tubing, tanks, and other mechanical assemblies.
  • Partner with Engineering to support New Product Introduction (NPI), prototype builds, Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and process improvements.
  • Train, coach, mentor, and develop manufacturing personnel while promoting teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Conduct daily production meetings and communicate priorities across functional teams.
  • Monitor productivity, quality, and schedule performance while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, employee development, and performance management.
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective actions related to manufacturing, quality, and production issues.
  • Promote and maintain a safe, organized, and efficient manufacturing environment.
  • Maintain accurate production metrics and provide regular status updates to management.
  • Support capacity planning, staffing, and resource allocation to meet changing business demands.

Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, or a related technical field preferred. Equivalent manufacturing leadership experience will also be considered.
  • Five or more years of experience in a precision manufacturing environment.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Experience supporting precision mechanical or electromechanical assembly operations.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production scheduling, and quality systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly documentation, and manufacturing work instructions.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience supervising technicians in a precision manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with mechanical, electromechanical, or fluid system assemblies.
  • Familiarity with tube bending, precision fittings, torque specifications, leak testing, and clean assembly techniques.
  • Experience supporting prototype development and low-volume, high-mix manufacturing.
  • ERP/MRP system experience (Epicor experience is a plus).
  • Experience working in an ITAR-regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience collaborating with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to improve production processes.
