Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Manager to lead day-to-day production operations within a heavy industrial fabrication environment. This position will oversee production teams, scheduling, safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement while ensuring projects are completed on time and to customer requirements.

The ideal candidate has experience managing heavy fabrication, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, boilers, power generation equipment, or similar engineered industrial products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead daily manufacturing and fabrication operations.
  • Manage production supervisors, leads, welders, fitters, machinists, assemblers, and other shop personnel.
  • Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer commitments, manpower, and shop capacity.
  • Monitor productivity, labor utilization, quality, costs, and on-time delivery.
  • Coordinate welding, fitting, machining, fabrication, assembly, inspection, and testing activities.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Planning, and Project Management.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and production requirements.
  • Identify production bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve workflow and efficiency.
  • Ensure materials, equipment, tooling, and manpower are available to support production.
  • Reduce downtime, scrap, rework, and manufacturing cycle times.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
  • Develop and mentor supervisors and production personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of manufacturing experience within heavy industrial or engineered-product manufacturing.
  • 3+ years of manufacturing or production leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of heavy fabrication, welding, machining, fitting, and assembly.
  • Experience managing skilled manufacturing teams and production supervisors.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings.
  • Strong understanding of production scheduling, manpower planning, and manufacturing workflow.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field.
  • Experience manufacturing heat exchangers, pressure vessels, boilers, condensers, tanks, piping systems, or similar equipment.
  • Experience within power generation, energy, petrochemical, oil & gas, or heavy industrial manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with ASME requirements, NDT/NDE, hydrostatic testing, and quality inspection.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience.
  • ERP/MRP experience.
