Description

A growing engineering organization is seeking a hands-on Engineering Team Leader / Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team supporting manufacturing operations, automation projects, facility expansion initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts. This role will provide both technical leadership and people leadership while driving the design, implementation, and optimization of automated manufacturing equipment, material handling systems, and production processes. The ideal candidate combines strong mechanical engineering and automation experience with the ability to mentor engineers, manage projects, and help establish best practices across engineering operations. Depending on experience, the position may be structured as either an Engineering Team Leader or Engineering Manager. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership Lead the design and implementation of automated manufacturing equipment and systems. Provide technical oversight for mechanical engineering, automation, controls, manufacturing engineering, and technician activities. Review engineering designs and ensure technical quality across projects. Support machine design, automation equipment development, material handling systems, and manufacturing improvements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive engineering solutions. Team Leadership Manage and mentor engineers, technicians, and engineering support staff. Support employee development and technical growth. Assist with project prioritization, resource allocation, and workload balancing. Build a collaborative, accountability-driven team culture. Project Management Lead engineering projects from concept through implementation. Coordinate schedules, budgets, deliverables, and stakeholder communication. Support new facility, distribution center, and manufacturing expansion initiatives. Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, safety, and manufacturing efficiency. Support implementation of automation and process improvement projects. Drive engineering standards, documentation, and best practices. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline. 8+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing, automation, machinery, industrial equipment, or related industries. Previous technical leadership, team leadership, or management experience. Experience leading engineering projects from concept through implementation. Strong understanding of mechanical systems and machine design. Experience working in manufacturing environments. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
