Job Description: ย 

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer Intern to support Operations within their Space and Mission Systems segment.ย  This position will get direct exposure to Manufacturing, Quality, Test, Environmental Health & Safety, and Continuous Improvement functions within Operations.ย  This position will also gain experience with different wireless products, fiber optics, robotics, and RF devices tailored to Intelligence and Cyber.

Essential Functions:ย 

  • Implement and analyze manufacturing plans and projects
  • Baseline Hours per Unit (HPU) for an array of product lines
  • Develop process improvements and plans to create efficiencies
  • Make recommendations for tooling and process requirements for new product introductions
  • Maintain records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations
  • Support development of digital dashboards using PowerBI systems enhancing manufacturing metrics
  • Provide logistics support for optimizing product flow and throughput
  • Support Artificial Intelligence (AI) adoption and application to manufacturing work cells
  • Work on cross-functional teams supporting the business
  • Quality assurance development of mistake-proofing, Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)

Qualifications:ย 

  • Pursuing a Bachelors of Arts or Sciences degree in related field.ย 

Preferred Additional Skills:ย 

  • Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, 5S+1, Kaizen events
  • Knowledgeable using SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, PowerBI, AI tools
