Hyosung HICO is seeking to fill a Manufacturing Data Architect position. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and govern enterprise data architecture to support integrated digital manufacturing solutions. This role contributes to the migration and integration of Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM) systems and ERP data into a scalable cloud (Azure or similar) platform, enabling advanced analytics, automated reporting, and AI-driven decision making across manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and planning functions and all levels of leadership, and stakeholders within the Hyosung HICO organization.

THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
• Design and implement cloud-based data architecture solutions for manufacturing systems across SAP and non-SAP platforms.
• Design and coordinate implementation of migration of manufacturing and business data from SAP and MOM systems - including MES, APS, PLM, and QMS - to Microsoft Azure cloud environments, in collaboration with global headquarters (Korea)
• Develop scalable, secure, and efficient data ingestion, storage, and processing solutions in accordance with organizational standards. • Contribute to data platform planning and recommend improvements aligned with business and technical requirements.
• Develop and maintain the extracting and modeling inventory and supply chain data from ERP system (e.g., SAP) using SQL inquires to build report datasets for BI.
• Design and develop ETL/ELT processes to integrate data from multiple operational systems into a centralized Azure cloud data platform, leveraging Azure Databricks (Apache Spark), Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Delta Lake, and Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Build and maintain data models optimized for analytics, reporting, and operational insights.
• Integrate ERP (SAP) and MOM data sources to support cross-functional manufacturing reporting and data visibility across manufacturing, quality, supply chain and planning functions.
• Develop and maintain reliable data pipelines supporting both near-real-time and batch processing workloads.
• Prepare and curate manufacturing data from ERP and MOM systems to support operational analytics and visualization through Power BI and related analytical tools.
• Prepare and structure data to enable advanced analytics and machine learning initiatives.
• Develop and maintain data models that support performance monitoring and operational intelligence across manufacturing operations. • Coordinate Smart Factory projects in collaboration with global headquarters and an academic institution, developing and deploying customized IoT, AI/ML, and advanced analytics solutions aligned with defined project objectives.
• Implement and maintain data governance practices related to data quality, integrity, security, and access management.
• Implement, monitor, and enforce data stewardship, metadata management, and access control standards established by global headquarters for cloud and BI platforms.
• Work with cross-functional teams including manufacturing control, supply chain, and production to understand data requirements and develop data solutions.
• Provide technical guidance to business users on data access, usage and reporting tools.
• Collaborate with SAP and MES configuration teams at global headquarters to support analytics requirements for U.S. manufacturing operations.
• Monitor and optimize performance of cloud data pipelines and storage solutions to improve efficiency, reliability, scalability, and cost effectiveness.
• Identify opportunities to improve data architecture, integration processes, and tools to meet evolving business needs. • Maintain data integrity and accuracy by developing governance processes for BI reporting.
• Develop and oversee coordination of Revenue Management strategies to optimize planning periods and maximize profitability.
• Conduct analysis of prior year performance, leverage industry data sources, internal financial metrics, changing network structure, and competitive insights to create strategic recommendations to core Inventory Management analysts.
• Monitor production schedules, identify close-in performance gaps, and recommend adjustment strategies accordingly.
• Champion of economic concepts and revenue optimization.
• Detail oriented and deadline focused with ability to manage responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment
• Intermediate SQL skills, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.

EDUCATION/SPECIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:
  • Bachelor's degree in business Analytics, Finance, Economics or Financial Engineering with years of verifiable analytical experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • Data Analytics experience in Manufacturing setting.
  • Proficiency in English and Korean languages.
  • Strong knowledge of production planning along with Smart Factory knowledge.
  • Cloud, SAP, and Business Intelligence experience is required.
  • Knowledge of Azure Databricks (Apache Spark), Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Delta Lake, and Azure Synapse Analytics or similar programs and software.
  • Effective communication skills in a variety of formats, including written, visual, and verbal, with emphasis on clarity.
  • Developed math, verbal and written communication skills including grammar and spelling.
  • Advanced customer service skills including service-oriented attitude.
  • Subject matter expert on use of cloud and data storage and planning
  • Expert computer skills, emphasizing MS Office products.
