Data Analyst - Manufacturing & Applied Machine Learning
Location: Warren, MI (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Contract
Role Overview
A client in the automotive manufacturing space is seeking a Machine Learning Data Analyst. This role requires a foundation in statistics and numerical data analysis, with exposure to machine learning. The position supports data-driven decision-making for manufacturing and engineering applications, with an emphasis on structured, numerical data. This is a suitable role for an individual with a manufacturing, mechanical, or industrial engineering background who has moved into data analytics and applied machine learning.
Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze large-scale numerical and structured manufacturing data to identify trends, anomalies, and performance drivers.
  • Build dashboards, reports, and analytical models to support operational and engineering teams.
  • Apply foundational machine learning techniques such as regression, classification, and clustering to manufacturing-related datasets.
  • Partner with engineering and manufacturing stakeholders to translate business problems into analytical solutions.
  • Support data validation, quality checks, and statistical analysis for operational datasets.
  • Present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Master's or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related manufacturing-focused discipline is required.
Experience: A minimum of one to three years of experience in data analysis with exposure to machine learning is necessary. This includes at least one year of experience working with statistics and numerical datasets, along with a background in manufacturing or industrial data.
