We are a single-purpose equity fund focused on the acquisition, development, and management of small‑footprint affordable housing solutions. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail‑oriented Controller to oversee our financial operations and accounting functions. This role is critical to supporting the growth of our financing department and ensuring strong financial oversight.

The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background across multiple disciplines. Experience in manufacturing, development, or property management is preferred but not required. This is an on‑site role, and we are looking to fill this position urgently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee accounting and financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage general bookkeeping, financial documentation, and record‑keeping.
  • Supervise daily treasury and cash management functions, providing timely reporting.
  • Lead controller, accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting processes.
  • Administer compensation plans, benefit programs, and employee financial plans.
  • Manage insurance relationships and oversee company‑wide contract administration.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance, handling annual audits, third‑party fund valuations, and tax filings for all entities.
  • Administer asset management, capital expenditures, and leasing contracts.
  • Deliver accurate and complete financial reports within 10 business days of month‑end and provide quarterly investor reports.
  • Implement and maintain financial controls to identify and mitigate risks while improving investment decision‑making.
  • Communicate with clients and vendors to ensure timely and accurate payments.
  • Compile and prepare financial documentation for audits.
  • Support the COO in evaluating capital and non‑capital proposals, ensuring solid financial returns and investment paybacks.
  • Play a key role in the development and implementation of ERP/MRP systems to enhance efficiency.
  • Develop and implement best practices across financial, administrative, and account management teams, reducing duplication and increasing efficiency.
  • Recruit, develop, and manage a pipeline of qualified accounting and finance professionals to support business growth.
  • Ensure team members have clear job descriptions, regular performance reviews, and ongoing coaching for success.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related role.
  • Industry experience in construction, manufacturing, or home building is preferred.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple accounting projects efficiently.
  • Proven ability to work independently, complete assignments within deadlines, and handle multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and respond quickly to urgent requests.
  • On‑site presence required – this is not a remote position.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs as needed.
